Does my mayor smell or something?

So today, after having several villagers move in and out, I noticed something odd...

Red dot is my mayor's house, blue dots are the villagers' houses.

Why is everyone as far as possible from my mayor? Is everyone allergic to carnations or something? Next to my mayor's house is the only place I put carnations. Luckily, only two of those are dreamies, so my town won't look like that forever. But what a funny coincidence!

It's probably too narrow of a strip next to your house for another plot. Below the train station depends on if you have pwps there blocking them...but I kinda prefer villagers not to be close to my house...

I only like my favorites to be near my house. wolfgang is right down by me like 4 spaces away lol, kyle isnt far behind

There actually aren't very many PWPs in the northern half of town. The space between the northernmost bridge and the plaza probably has the most room.
