Does it rain in winter?

I played in winter previously but I always remember that it snowed, but I never got to see rain with a snowy ground. Maybe I missed it or something, but does it actually rain or is the "rain" just snow.

Yeah, it's so cold that the rain turned to snow. The snow is actually just really cold rain.

Lol, thanks guys! I mainly wanted to ask since I like the snowy scene, but I'd like it even more when villagers have their umbrellas out during rain. If only they did it with snow too, I think that would be uber cute >-<

I don't know, my town rained a month or two ago so I don't know if that counts as winter.

That's actually not entirely true. It's rains here sometimes when the ground already has snow but it doesn't melt the snow. The rain is cold enough to be considered as ice rain and so the snow on the ground doesn't melt whatever so ever, in fact it often adds more to the snow on the ground. I think it would have been good if Nintendo implemented that is some way or at least have light hail or something instead of just snow then.
