Does grass deteriorate just by walking on it?

i never run, i only ever walk but my grass is completely gone in the areas i walk on regularly, not including the default dirt patches that you cant get rid of. I never noticed this before, because ive been time travelling less lately so i usually play out a full day, which means a lot more time spent walking on the grass per day. Is there any way i can prevent it or is it unavoidable? Thanks.

Don't walk on the same places all of the time.

Yes, it will wear (slowly) down just by walking on it. If its any consolation, its a vast improvement on city folk. Your town became a desert within a month, even if you never ran.

I didn't know the grass could deteoriate if you walked, I thought that was the safe bet. I guess not then and here was me thinking I was taking the safe route LOL. No wonder I've been seeing a lot of grass wear in my town lately.

It's always smart to invest in paths They can be hard work, but they really do make a town look pretty, and you can run on paths you place without ever ruining the grass. You can even try and form your own natural dirt paths by just running the same paths everywhere for a while. If you don't want paths at all, then my advice is useless

Can always cover the town with paths and flowers! I think watering plants might help the grass wear to grow back, but there's also permanet dirt paths at the start of the game :3
