I like it that they are now part of my town and I can place them wherever I want. Only thing I want are some more shops so I can create my own boulevard. Like Leif could have his own shop. Maybe a luxury shop for Label(le). I hope Gracie will return with some deluxe items and maybe Brewster.
But you never know since they plan to keep supporting this game for 2-3 years and see what we already got in 2 months

I miss the music from both main street and the city, that's for sure. I love how it's back as a K.K. song.
I'm divided on having shops on the island and at another place. I like the feeling of travelling elsewhere, but also having all the shops on my island seems cool too. I think really, what would be ideal for me, is if we have the café (and maybe some other island-y buildings) on our island, and everything else elsewhere, like the dream suite etc. I don't mind the loading screens and dialogue personally but I'm not sure how they will handle this since lots of people don't like the loading screens that came with the city in CF.

I created my own main street in the northern part of my island. It's got the museum, Able, Nooks, a plaza with a fountain i made with a flower stall, a pic nic area, heart shaped pond, and more. I spruced it up a lot and I'm pretty proud of how nice it looks. I used the terracotta path for the whole thing. I've had villagers walk up and down the street a lot and I just love it.
I'm thinking of placing something to play music in the plaza area that will play Animal City.

I have my own little 'main street'
on the base level is all of my villager houses, then on the 1st level I have able's and nook's to the left and my campsite to the right, on the 2nd level in the middle I have my museum!
on the side with the shops I built a mini cafe and I have a bench outside to give it a more "busy" vibe
for the campsite I have a pond and a "backyard" with a swinging bench and a place to sit and a barbecue and fire
the museum has a customized simple panel with fossils, fish, and bugs on it and theres two different dino models on the left and right side of the museum

I solved this problem by making my own main street. Lmao.
I have a shopping district that all of these are confined to. It is two levels to add a bit more of a nice touch. Thanks to the extra level and river placement, it is well sectioned from the rest of the area themes. I also added some of my own personal "shops" or stalls to fill in space while leaving room for future buildings that may get added in the future.

I have a downtown area separate from the rest of my island that works like a main street, and I like having that kind of control over where everything goes. I suggest other people do the same if they want to separate it from the rest of their island

Yes I miss Main Street, especially the fact that villagers that used to live in your town would come visit

Aaah the good old days!! i still think its wierd how retail isnt on main street? i also miss seeing old villagers i let go shopping on main street! tho in new horizons, you can choose the placemtn of all buildings so in that way we are blessed!! especially since my retail was so far from my beach port that i had to run laps when selling bugs and fish from island visits:’((
I like being able to arrange the shops the way you want! I've seen people put the shops on elevated ground with some stairs leading up to it, because it's kinda like main street. We definitely need more shops though. I mean... remember Club LOL? Or the fortune telling shop? I miss them so much T_T
