Does anyone know if there's a way to generate more unroomed tourists for Nook Miles?

Since finishing the VIP room I've had exactly two tourists that I've led to the hotel, on Tuesday and Wednesday. None since, and it's currently Saturday in the USA. Scanning amiibos doesn't add to the Nook achievement, and I've got no clue if they truly show up at random or if there's criteria to get them to pop up. I know it's a long shot but I'm wondering if anyone else has figured anything out

I had this issue too. To be honest, all I did was wait and I got a a lot of villagers. But on my other island, I had this issue and waiting didn't work. I just restarted my switch. That worked for me but if it doesn't work for you i'd recommend googling the issue or watching a video.

Okay, why did that work for me, too lol.

Thanks for the tip. I have no clue why that did anything, and it's going to need testing on subsequent days to see if it holds up as a valid method, but you might be on to something

I really need to know if there is a trick - I haven't gotten any since the update came out :( I have to assume there isn't always a tourist looking for a room... but I would have assumed I would have at least found one at this point.

I've tried looking through data dumps to find any triggers or prereqs, but haven't really found anything that stands out.

I'm leaning towards the possibility that the the game selects 1 unroomed villager per day, and it's random whether or not this villager is roaming around in your town at a given moment.

Similarly to how there's a chance your villagers will be outside or inside when you load the town, or even how a hotel tourist might be outside or not, the unroomed tourist may or may not be spawned. So you may find that doing a "save and quit" and reload might help. I'll probably try some of this myself later today.

No luck. Save and reloaded about a dozen each across 3 towns.

Town 1: Same villager wandering around needing a room every reload. Both before and after VIP room was filled.
Town 2: None (VIP room filled)
Town 3: None (VIP room available.)

I played for just a few days before resetting my game and ran into at least one looking for a room, maybe two but don't recall, so I'm thinking it just happens when it happens. The trouble with random stuff that can happen on a percentage each time is that it can and often does rarely occur.
