Does anyone have a guide on planting trees/bush starts ? :c

Sometimes when I plant trees/bush starts next to each other, they don't grow, or one grows but the other doesn't. And sometimes trees I plant don't grow at all .-.
is it because of the placement?

Does anyone have any tips on how to plant bushstarts/trees so they will grow?
I want to plant bush starts & trees side by side :c

it could be because the tree is too close to something or there are too many trees in one area. bush starts and trees/tree stumps only grow to a connection of about twelve i believe? this should help you better: http://animalcrossing.wikia.com/wiki/Bush

For some reason, I find spots where cedar trees won't grow but regular saplings and fruit trees will, in the same spot

You can only grow 12 bushes in a line, I heard. ^^

I have been making a maze in my town and couldn't get a bush to grow in one row and was able to get bamboo to grow there. It was a long row of bushes.
