Does anyone even like the balloon set?

i only like a few pieces of it combined with other 'party' themed sort of furniture, but on it's own i find it disgusting

I really don't like it, which is why I never bother to shoot down any balloons.

^ Same here. I was massively disappointed after a few balloons. I endewd up Re-Tailed them away.
On the other hand, I think the balloon floor is the best out of the series,
and perhaps with a well-designed setting, pieces like the TV or the lamp would work well with the Bubblegum Sisiters ^^

but a few bits and pieces here and there probably wouldn't look too bad.
and i really like the balloon dog lamp.

When I started my town, I thought it was so cute that the balloons dropped balloon items! I used it in my attic because it was pretty easy to get a full set for hha points.

But then it got old. I still pop balloons for the badge, but I just sell the items in retail.

For a time I did try mailing pieces to my villagers, but they did not display it for long. They either put it in retail or gave it back to me for doing errands.

Before I got New Leaf, I saw the set on the wiki and I thought it was absolutely adorable.
So of course I would go and get all of the pieces, but then after a while I started to hate it.

And I only shoot down balloons to get the badge

Nah, I sell them as soon as possible. Once I get the golden slingshot, I don't even bother.

I liked it more when balloons were Nintendo/Mario items

I mean it was still annoying once you got them all (or just needed 1-3 more items), but at least they weren't ugly as all hell

Yeah. I agree with the above. You just lose motivation to pop balloons once you've got the golden slingshot :S

I still pop them

but my town also has flowers/trees covering practically everywhere, so the presents usually have no place to land unless I give them space.... so less time wasted opening/selling worthless junk


also there's something to be said about the irony of working to get the golden slingshot and then never putting it to use

Not particularly. I collected it all for the sake of having it in my catalogue and stuff, but now I tend to just ignore any balloons I see because I just cannot be bothered. I think it'd have been better if they still had random furniture in balloons, and then like every 10th one had balloon furniture in it or something like that!

I think the balloon series idea was silly and I wish there were just random furniture in the balloons. I'm trying to get the balloon popping badges but I don't want to keep picking up presents of useless furniture.

The only part of the balloon set I actually like is the balloon lamp thing. It's cute that it's shaped like a little balloon dog, but the rest of the set is just an eyesore to look at.

I hate checking the streetpass houses and having my eyes burned from looking at the whole balloon set in one room. It should be a crime.

I don't really care much for it. I do like the hat and the balloon dogs you can customize, but besides that no not really.

However the set would work well with the streetpass balloons. That I would like.

Pretty much this, yep. I don't like the furniture and I don't have any motivation to pop them because of this. I have all of 'em in my catalogue and I think they're way too colorful and tacky. But I want the badge, so I pop them every now and then. I wish they'd still give out random furniture, that was so much nicer? A surprise every time.
