Does anyone else NOT terraform?

I’m an unashamed terraformer lol but I haven’t messed with how the river flows (other than making my dinky cliff pond into a more impressive lake) and I most certainly haven’t flattened my island.

I did at the start but I don't anymore. I think if you've got big plans to terraform, do it before you start placing stuff about.

I've smoothed out some edges and tweaked some things to accommodate a certain house's placement and to allow me to set up a second bridge, but I haven't really done anything significant.

My original plan for my island was to have all of the residents living on the back half of the island on the third, highest tier, but I got all of my villagers before I unlocked access to terraforming so, while their houses are all on the back half of the island as planned, they're split between the natural second and third tiers that the game provided to me when I started the island. I don't know whether I will remedy this in the future, because not only would it cost a ton to move the houses around to be able to terraform more fully, but even though I had that so-called "plan" to have everyone on the highest tier, I don't truly have a specific idea about how to go about it and make it look good. Time well tell, I suppose.

I don't consider myself as one. I also did try to come up with a neat design from my island's natural layout. I am perfectly happy with it. I just made a few trimmings to some parts though but nothing really major to change the overall look and feel.

I mean, I terraformed my starter island to a different layout that appeared on different starter islands. So, it was kinda vanilla that I was working with. Just not my original map. I decided that I have more fun trying to get the layout perfect for me so I decided to do something a bit more wild.

some people are really talented at terraforming, i am not nor do i actually enjoy doing it tbh. at most i plan on getting rid of the 3rd layer since i prefer the 2 layer structure/look more

When I first started play acnh, I told myself I would only do little terraforming to make my island feel as close to an typical animal crossing island. Following the undefined rules of the preset islands and only changing things slightly....but now my island is completely terraformed and no where near what is was like when I started!

I've found that setting these weird parameters for myself have limited my creativity, so now I really just do whatever I want, and constant change everything!

once i get my new island i'll probably n o t terraform except to make tweak things just a lil bit, like a cliff for an incline or a river for a bridge ...

I literally just removed one square along the entire back of the island so you can walk behind the cliffs and on the rocks to the secret beach
I have barely decorated what I have
creativity is hard

I miss playing wild world with friends where all they wanted to see was my house
