I hate my mayor, but everything else about my town is flawless and it's soooo upsetting.
I have a great map, great villagers, everything. I just hate my mayor.
Ugh. Petition for next game to let you pass on your mayoral role to side characters.

The gender you can effectively change - there's no restriction on wearing the other gender's clothes (even if Mabel will call you 'adventurous' >.<) and you can get the other gender's hairstyles at Shampoodle if you get 15 haircuts with her. Or you could use your Mii's face!

yeah, thanks, i know, but that won't solve the problem of her name or villagers calling her female and i don't like the mii faces on them, unfotunately.

Ah, I forgot about the face. I reset my first town for the face. I'm completely happy with the decision I made, but I wasn't very far into the game either.

Nora is the name, which isn't bad for a girl but I don't want her to be a girl. I'm not very far into the game either but I have all except one of my dreamies and a blue train station, blue town hall, and great map layout. Sigh.

My second town layout was perfect. I had a few of my dream villagers, and I was decently far into the game. I reset because I named the town something stupid. Still no regrets.

If it's something you want to learn to accept, you have to train yourself to stop thinking of it has a bad thing. Embrace it. :-J

Yeah, I probably need to reset. I just don't want to lose all of my dream villagers and items.

I'm not sure how it works, but I've seen people have villagers held for them while they're resetting. As far as items go, there really isn't anything you can't get back. Plus, now that you know what you want, you'll know what to look for in a town map.

I'd reset. You can get your dreamies again, but if you don't like your mayor you'll probably never be 100% happy with your town, and the mayor can't be changed. Get someone to hold your items and a few of your villagers?

I hate mine too, I didn't use a face guide and I regret it so hard, and her name is so common :c. But I can't reset because I like my current town too much.

it's just kind of rough working to get everything back and a lot of my villagers are super popular to where i wouldn't trust anyone except my friends to give them back and i don't want to dump them all on them.

I don't really know anyone that I wouldn't feel guilty about asking to hold stuff for me, unfortunately.

Well think of it this way: if your reset without having someone hold your villagers, you'd have to get them again anyway. There's no harm in leaving them with someone you might not get them back from, because you wouldn't have gotten them back anyway.

(Also a fair amount of people on TBT have a good reputation and would probably return them to you).

Good luck! It's hard to reset, but in all likelihood you'll enjoy your new town even more.

I have the same problem with my own mayor. I use a second character and pretty much hide her identity because the name, "Kituki", was a horrendous idea. Like a 5-year-old girly princess-type kid wanting to be Japanese and kawaii. That's what her name feels like to me. I didn't use a face chart although I love how her face turned out, but... her name... ugh. I just use a second character as my primary and deal with it. I don't wanna reset. Not after all the effort I've put into my bushes and paths and such.
