There have been rumors about a Doctor Who Movie coming out in 2012.
An article was posted, but then later was removed.
But if you type in Johnny Depp in the search box (who was apparently was hired to play Doctor in the movie)
You come across the article that was removed.

Now one of the biggest fans of Doctor Who that I know, is crying over the fact. But I know there's a lot of other Doctor Who fans on TBT. So thoughts?

No thanks i prefer it being a show, even though im a big fan i havent even bought the games because i just dont like doctor who being anything more then just a show.

Johnny Depp? Hahahaha... no.
Thinking about it... he'd probably do a good job. But I don't see a need for a movie.
Not with the show going so well.

Okay, it'd be an "American" movie. To try and get you all interested... but still. *Shakes head*

In a telephone interview actor Johnny Depp was brief about the project due to contractual obligations, however he revealed some choice plot twists: "The Doctor will absolutely have a serious romance. I can not reveal who my co-star is yet but I'm told she is a strong, lovely actress that everyone knows and is perfect for the part." Johnny Depp revealed one other aspect of the Doctor, that of his secret past: "The Doc is always portrayed as this mysterious Demi-God. Russell has penned this wonderful, exciting script that humanizes this all-powerful alien. The Doctor is actually given a name in the film, I'm told he never really has one. He also acts like a Physician in more than just his title. He's called The Doctor for a reason. His mission is to journey through time and space with a crew of volunteers treating humanity's illnesses brought on by invading aliens. He cures the bubonic plague and then goes to Africa to fight Ebola. The film will be very human and relevant and have a great message."
That last paragraph is why I don't believe this. It's completely not Doctor Who-like at all.

Also, Matt Smith has a full three years as the Doctor, at least. His contract will be up in 2013. Not in time for the supposed filming of this movie in 2011, and not even when it's supposed to be released in 2012. Also, why would Russell T. Davies be writing the movie? Steven Moffat took over as lead writer and executive producer when Russell T. Davies left after Series 4. And if you still believe the rumored movie to be true, you have to realize that there is absolutely no proof. The article doesn't even give a source! It just screams "made up rumor devised to destroy the hopes of fans who are foolish enough to believe it".

If there's going to be a Doctor Who movie, the Doctor MUST be a British actor, so I say no to Johnny Depp.

I dunno why everyone is so hyped up over doctor who, I've seen a few episodes although I wasn't too impressed with them.
