Do your villagers run away whenever you get out the camera?

They seem to make bored and annoyed reactions and then walk off. I take these pictures on benches, never stopped to think it was the camera and not just something they do.
Of course if they sit in the plaza I have to take photos of these doofs sunbathing _in the middle of the plaza, sitting on the ground_.

Yes, it’s happened to me a few times. That’s why as soon as I use the photo app, I scramble to take a picture right away. It looks sloppy on some but it’s better than nothing.

This happens to me pretty often, I get ready to take a picture of them sitting some place looking cute and they hop up and walk off.
It's funny because once I stop trying to take the picture they tend to go back to where they were to sit down again.

From my experience, they tend to do it from time to time. Though sometimes I feel like I have the opposite problem where I'm trying to take a picture of a part of my island without anyone in the frame, and one of them has to wander over and just stand there for a while. The few times I did want to take a picture WITH them, they tend to just stay for a few seconds before leaving. Villagers in general tend to never stick to an activity or action for more than a minute, based off of my observation at least

yes!!! also they move so fast considering they don't really run unless they're playing tag or w/e

i'll be running around my island doing things and pass by somebody i saw two cliff tiers down on the other side of the island like 30 seconds previously and be like ??? how u get here so quick

omg so cute!! I had no clue they could sit in the life rings, I'll have to set some out later
and yes I def experience them running away when I get out a camera, I saw hamlet singing only once, and when I ran next to him to take a video he promptly stopped and walked away lol

Oh yes, they'll walk through a shot I'm trying to make and stand there quite happily sometimes! They also really like wandering around when I'm trying to set stuff out or put down a path. I have a picture of Rudy running through an area I was trying to plot. He would not go away (not that I'd want him to, he's my favourite)! I had a similar problem earlier with Hamphrey eagerly watering flowers I was trying to dig up.

I think it might be purposeful? It does help when a villager's sitting where you're trying to terraform. I've gotten them to run off pretty easily just by whipping out the camera.

On the other hand - I just want cute pics of them chilling around town 😭

Sometimes when they’re sitting next to the water or under a tree, I’ll put down a zen cushion and sit next to them and they’ll stay for a while. Might just be random, but it can happen!

I've had this happen a lot, when I'm just setting up the perfect angle, frame and filter, after some time they'll just yeet out of my face and begone from the frame which is really annoying tbh lol guess they're camera shy! I just want to take cute pictures of them is that too hard to ask?!

Yes! I spend a lot of time getting everything perfect and then they're just like nope. I swear they're all camera shy but I can completely relate to that lmao. Pashmina is probably the only villager that stays put on my island solely because she sings for so long while Sherb and Dom are the worst offenders of running off immediately after I open the camera.
