not usually, no. my family and i’s dinnertime can occur anywhere between 5-7pm and my cat, zeva, usually gets fed between 2-6pm depending on when she gets hungry and starts asking for food aha. our eating times sometimes match up but not very often c’:
Having 5 dogs and 4 cats at the moment, my pets don't all eat at the same time whenever my family and I have meals. Only one of my dog is consistently at the dining table and we have given her a nickname, "little pig" because she has become picky and prefer to eat food that we are eating at the moment rather than food we prepare for her
The cats on the other hand are all female and divas in their own right, they eat when they are hungry and would not eat when they are not, sometimes they'll be picky with the types of fish they want to eat on that day
yes omg my cat will literally hop onto the seat next to me ! shes been doing it for the past few years but now she will eat her food first and then come sit with me ^^
unfortunately my 7 dogs are very fast eaters (also there are seven of them and i don't have that many hands) so even if i gave them food right before i started eating, they'd be done by the time i get to mine ahuhuhuhu. though it's always cute to see people eating while their pets are also eating or even just like,, pets sitting at the table with you aaaaaa
My dog usually eats at the same time as me, however, she usually gets distracted and will get interested in what I have on my plate instead. When that happens, I've got to make her interested in her own food again.
I have two cats, and they pretty much will just eat whenever, and will let me know if they want it sooner rather than later!
I only have one cat and she paces her food well (she’s healthy weight and doesn’t overeat) so it’s pretty much an all you can eat lol. She doesn’t really eat while we eat cause our dining table is close to our door and she always wants to meow to go outside while we eat. That’s when she gets heard the most I guess I noticed that she often eats when someone is standing hear her food though
I have a pug who is actually a pig. He would eat all day long if I let him, but he has set times I feed him dictated mostly by my work schedule. So right around 7pm, he is banging at his bowl because it's dinnertime. However, if I feed him at his dinnertime and then finish cooking for my partner and I, he will bang his bowl like he never had dinner at all when we sit down to eat. (He's learned to pull that trick on us when we both come home too, and when the other is out - so he has for SURE gotten a bonus dinner or two from us.)
My cat grazes throughout the day, but I worry about his hard food going stale (is that a thing?) so I give him about 1/3 cup of food three times a day, as recommended on the back of the fold bag. But half the time he'll wake me up early in the morning for food even though he already has some, so I've been considering getting him a shallower food bowl so that it looks more full. And we have a cat tree set up near the dining table so at dinner time he likes to sit at the top and watch us
my hamsters eat at all times so that's pretty accurate to my eating schedule lol, but they usually go to their bowl as soon as they're awake which ranges from about 10pm-2am
If I’m about to eat something particularly delicious I’ll stop and give my cat some of her treats too Lol feels unfair if it’s just me getting the goods. P:
My dog free feeds for the most part. I tried feeding at a schedule in the beginning but he just wasn’t feeling it and always nibbled here and there. So now I just leave his food out until he finishes or by the end of the night. We tried to avoid table feeding at all cost cause we didn’t want the begging, but then one day my MIL feed him off her plate and from there the begging hasn’t stop. lol so I give in every once in a while, it’s just too hard to resist his face.
Some of my pets only eat every other day, so I'd be quite hungry if I ate on their schedule... Though I'd be lying if I said that the crested gecko mix didn't smell appetizing
Nope though one of my cats likes to beg and try jumping on the table depending on what we are eating. my cats eats throughout the day and one of them is constantly begging when she’s not sleeping.
My dog eats whenever she wants. Her breakfast gets poured at 7am and dinner sometime between 4pm - 7pm, but she will go hours without eating her breakfast until night time. She seems to eat dinner when everyone else does, and I think it's because of the smells in the air opening up her appetite.
