Holy hell... all my posts keep getting glossed over. Are you guys that afraid of remotely intelligent conversation?

Why am I on here anyway... I have an unbelievable amount of homework to get done by the end of the month...

"Rewarded"? Your parents are not money making machines. Your reward should be the job you are doing... if you work one, that is.

I feel incredibly bad asking for anything... I buy stuff I can afford and even avoid asking for birthday presents. My parents wanted to give me a b-day present this year, so we settled for 1/4 the price of a laptop... and I would have preferred to pay for the whole thing myself.

A lot of you guys are spoiled. You'll understand soon enough, though... just you wait until you turn 18 and your parents send you packing. You'll know what it's like to work for your money...

Must be an intelligent share ideas thread!

I gotta have good grades and I can have almost anything that I want.

That's true. I agree.
But my mom offers..

are you kidding me????? never get anything! unless it is a holiday or something! but i do get money to go to movies so thats good

Bulerias has a point though.

I'm 17 and I seriously don't want to leave home ...
I don't feel ready ...

To stick to the topic.

I work for, and buy my own things.
I occasionally get money if I do extra things around the house.

I agree with you. If you saw my first post here (which was a lot more intelligent sounding then the most recent ones) I'm 17 and my parents have never really bought me everything I ever wanted. I've worked for my money for the past 2 years and I don't like to splurge it. I understand how you feel, but i still let my parents buy me birthday gifts. (usually though, my birthday gift is letting my go to a big anime/gaming con near my birthday.)
