Do you use ''the path?''

all this 'the path' is making me vaguely uneasy, what do you guys know that I don't
XD
the sound of custom paths is so unpleasant though, it sounds vaguely like muffled running of bare feat on really hard ground, and it hurts my feet just thinking about it, so the sound makes me cringe

I prefer using the in-game paths so I don't use "the path" (can someone please link me to it though ;) ). I do use a couple of custom stepping-stone designs just so my flowers stop spreading though!

This is a website that shows different versions of the so called "The Path", original creator is @ Denim2 on twitter :')

it is a natural looking path that can be used to make natural looking forest paths or stuff like that.

I use the path too. I actually use two different variations of the path, one is brick and one is the dirt path. Although I have regrets about the dirt path I chose being too much like the OG path, I initially wanted something a little bit different and I still might change it.

Copied from the helpful link visibleghost shared, this is the brick variation I use as one of my paths!

Yeah, I recently made the switch from the normal dark dirt path to this version of The Path. The sound isn't the best, but I feel like it fits my island~
This is absolutely GORGEOUS

Actually, now i am erasing any path i have put ( both in game path and content ones ) trying to just with senses make a sense of paths in preparation for xmas time and the snowy season :)

I think it looks amazing but I don't have the patience to lay it all down in a "curving" pattern.

I have a version of “the path” that takes nine slots. I couldn’t give up anymore slots. I really hope we get to unlock more eventually.
But like another poster said, I hate that “the path” doesn’t make the proper sound when you walk on it :/

I had it for a bit but I've decided to just go back to the in-game paths because of the sound they make!

I don't. But not because I don't like the looks of it! I'm just not that big into using custom designs for paths, I just never had the patience to lay those out. I'm already frustrated when I'm laying down a regular dirt path and for some reason accidentally erase a square or corner... I just don't have the patience to do that, but also switch between 9-13 different custom designs in between.

And custom design paths would be frustrating me more, as you sometimes have to redo them when you accidentally 'shuffle' your feet and erase one.

I use a variation of it all over my island.

It's a woodland island, so the path fits the look we're going for perfectly.

I don't because I don't have enough slots nor do I have much room on my island for them. I will admit, it's a very nice path. :) Maybe if I got a second game, I'd use it.

I don't, even though I think it's really beautiful, because I have a self imposed rule that I can't use patterns that I don't create myself. It kinda sucks but I love the feeling that my town is 100% my making, and that makes it worth it. I'm not an artist by any means either so any patterns I come up with will never compare XD Oh well.

I use a version of it! It's just too dang amazing not to, I can't resist it. I don't use it as a main path, though. I use it for my more rural areas (like my haunted house). But I like the noises the main paths make too much to stop using them entirely, lol.

I really wish they'd update custom designs to add a new section for JUST paths. They could make it so that, not only could designs be saved specifically as paths (thus saving more custom design slots 😉), but maybe they could set it up so we could select what material they're made of, so custom paths could make those cute sounds, too  Of course, this is me just daydreaming, lol.

EDIT:

Here's my haunted house entry for this forum, showing off the path I use. I found one that also has 1x1 narrow versions of it because I was desperate for those!

I do not. I have used the in-game paths in a few areas, but I prefer keeping my island more deconstructed.

I've seen several variations on other islands, and it is pretty, though.

I don’t, because although I recognize that it looks good and is impressively designed in terms of versatility and aesthetics it just bothers me too much that it lacks the depth (that may be the wrong word) of the built in patch and other natural elements. To some extent I realize this is an arbitrary hang up. A lot of the game involves suspension of disbelief or imagination to gloss over little things. But for me I just can’t not notice it. Currently I only use custom paths if they are tile designs, because then I don’t have the issues with the flatness.

I can enjoy seeing the path (and other custom
designs too) on other people’s islands, and appreciate it. But I find whatever reason when it is on my island my brain just picks and picks at it and I can’t do it. Oh well.

may give it another try in my second island, which I am now diving into designing more. There is so much good custom design stuff out there, I would love to expand my horizons (harhar, unexpected word play).

I had the path at first for a little area. But it takes up so many design slots and I keep finding these 1 design or 3 design paths that look super great.

I don't. I was following the artist prior on Twitter and when I saw them post it; I'd never imagine it to become so viral, lol. That said, they're an amazing artist.

I made a personal goal where I only use custom designs I've made.

I have used it, and I think it's so well designed! Very retro and reminiscent of AC: Population Growing which was my introduction to the series. I don't care if it's incredibly popular- the idea of not using a path solely because it's popular seems really...reactionary and insecure. Like it? Use it.
