Do you use the failed money tree method to plant your trees?

I used this method so that I didn't have to wait every day for a sapling.
You just simply take your golden shovel, 1k bells, and bury it.
Boom, tree! It won't grow into a money tree, but it'll just be a normal tree.
Did you know of this?

I would if I wanted non-fruit trees. Tried explaining this method to someone once and they seemed to completely ignore it, perhaps due to taking several lines or something, lol. *hopes they don't see this thread*

Cool. I'll have to remember this when I need more oak trees. I just figured the tree died after the money is harvested.

In this case, the money doesn't even spawn.
You have to bury a large sum like 99k for a money tree to actually become a money tree.
Burying 1k will make it a failed tree, which is simply a normal tree!

Woah. I've never heard of this, this is pretty cool!

I know I'm not the first to think of it but I'm sure not a lot of people know.
I've always wanted to tell people about it.

I would totally do this if I had a gold shovel, but Leif hasn't coughed it up yet. I feel like I've bought a million fertilizers and still haven't gotten one.

Whoa, I didn't know that! So it can work with any shovel or does it have to be the golden shovel?

Oh yeah, I used to do that for just a few fixes in town. If I need to replant on a large area then I try to order saplings online or just time travel and buy from the store. I like to just buy stuff here lol

I had no idea about this! That's a gamechanger.

Now if only there could be a way to get cedar saplings more quickly >_>

I have wondered though - will the trees planted this way still turn pink during that week-ish time? If not I wouldn't bother but if they do then it could be worth it.

Wow what? I didn't know this. Shouldn't the money just be continued to be buried if it fails to grow into a bell tree? Game logic

It does if it's under a certain amount - for example, I buried 100 bells but it never turned into a tree, it just stayed an x on the ground.

Yeah, I like making my whole town a forest. It would take forever to wait for saplings.
