This thread is definitely not for shaming anyone who does TT. I'm just curious about who does it and for what reasons and how.

I started off with not TTing, but then I got a bit tired of running out of things to do. So I started TTing to get all the artwork from Redd. Then I was doing it to see what was showing up in the shops. Then today I got bored so I TTed to June to catch new bugs and fish.

When I was moving villagers in and out, I did for that, and now I do sometimes if I am ordering stuff for people, or like if I had Redd on a certain day and wanna go back and see him again

Primarily for cycling villagers. Haven't really TT'd lately. However, if Redd shows up, I'd definitely use the TT exploit to get as much as as I can from him.

Honestly I love meeting new villagers on mystery islands. Even though I have a lot of amiibo cards there are some I don’t have, and often there are villagers I forget about. Some days I find myself wanting to spend a lot of time on this, so I TT to get someone out. Other days, like today, I say in the present and actually add to my island to make it even better.

I only TT when I am cycling villagers out of my island. I don't otherwise since I prefer to do a little each day. I probably would have my clock set differently though if I could only play at one time of the day like a friend I have irl does so she doesn't see just night time.

I've time traveled in all of the Animal Crossing games since the GameCube game and I actually set my start date in New Horizons to be back in like February to give myself some buffer room since in those past games, I'd enjoy playing multiple in-game days per each real day. I did that for a while, then jumped ahead to participate in the Bunny Day festivities because time was quickly running out to experience it at the time. I ended up at the current date as a result of that. I'm keeping it day-to-day in New Horizons despite knowing that I'd enjoy myself more if I were playing my usual way because I don't want to jump too far ahead and not be able to experience whatever events they implement through the updates.

As for the reason I prefer time travel, I dont know, I just do? I got used to it as a kid and just stuck with it through all these years. I find the day-to-day to be a little bland and restrictive in the older games. In New Horizons it is less stifling because of the crafting mechanics and Nook Miles challenges, so that helps keep me content even if I could be enjoying myself more than I am.

I TT because I get impatient and bored too quickly. If I've done almost everything I can think of for "daily tasks", then I'm not really up for spending the rest of my day casually fishing or something like that. I find the game more enjoyable that way.

Island hopping is a lot of fun and it is cool to see a lot of the different villagers while trying to find someone you'd like to invite! But then it can get frustrating when you don't find someone good lol.

It’s weird because I know every single villager that’s in the series, but I love the mystery of it and seeing who might pop up. I just learned not to do it with one specific villager in mind lol.

I do a lot of villager cycling o':
But it was mostly just cause I got bored waiting for things ~

i have adhd and autism so i dont like to wait for the stuff to happen!!!
i average abt 3-4 in-game days per real-life day — i go around, do all my chores, buy anything i want from shops and the daily special npc, and then travel to the next day!! its currently june 9th on my island sdfjhsdkfhskdf

I'm an avid TT'er, but haven't done it at all, apart from making it night, to catch some snapping turtles.

Very odd for me.

I had Redd in my town and TT back and forth a day to get all the art for my museum. I also did that for my fossils.

I TT to summer to get all the DIYs (which I now have except for any wedding stuff) and now I'm in fall trying to get all the seasonal DIYs because once I start work again next month, I won't be able to spend as much time balloon farming then.

I have time traveled back to early April several times to collect the cherry blossom/Easter DIYs. Other than that, I TT in order to speed up things like building relocations and bridges/inclines. I jumped huge lengths of time back when I was trying to get villagers to move out, but since obtaining my dreamies there's no need for that anymore.

I didn't TT at all for the first 30 days, but when I hit 30 days of playing I realised I REALLY wanted to restructure the top part of my island which meant moving a lot of bridges, inclines, and houses. And I was so close to getting that Nook Cranny upgrade, so I time travelled about another month's worth.

Other than that, I don't time travel at all. Only if I really really need to lol

I've only TT to kick villagers initially, and haven't TT since, cause I want to have something to do in the game for a while.

I did not want to TT but then I got to the part where 3 random villagers move in during the beginning of the game and I was like oh hell no. So I had to TT them out asap. My plan was to scan in my amiibo villagers and avoid randoms completely but that wasn't possible so early on. Now that I have all my villagers scanned in I rarely TT now and when I do it's for ordering stuff from the catalog for friends.

I started off trying not to TT but I kept getting the same things over and over in Nook's/balloons/etc. so I TTed to reset them. I also play at "non-peak" hours and not very long so it's harder for me to trade online, have people water my flowers, or go over to people's islands for meteor showers, etc. So now I do it to get more items/DIYs for my collection or speed up hybrid growing. I'll also TT back and forth a few times for Celeste/Redd. I usually only TT within the same week unless I don't get any good NPCs or the selection at Nook's is terrible and I need to reset it.
