Do you think they will ever make the dialogues less repetitive?

I like NH, it has been a great game during these long quarantine months. Although it lacks the same appeal that WW or City Folks had, in my opinion, it’s still fun. The only thing that is starting to make me want to play less and less is the dialogues. For this exact reason I decided to resume my old WW game, just to remember if it was me being a kid or if the dialogues were really better...and truth is, they were. They were funny, more personal(villagers ask you many questions) and definitely meaner( crankies, u hues and snooties, I missed them). So I was wondering, do you see any possibility of improving a significant part of the game that seems to have been left out almost completely or we will be stuck with snooties being normals and lazies talking only talking about bugs for years to come?

I don't see them making the villagers any meaner. I wish they did since snooties are probably the most polite in the game lol. NL was extremely repetitive too. I would be surprised if they added any more dialogue beyond what they add in for each holiday/event.

I find the dialogue very repetitive also which spoils the experience very slightly. Timmy and Tommy for example and Blathers. Also the villagers often say the same thing. I love the game but sometimes have to put it down due to the repetitive nature of it.

It would indeed be lovely to have new dialogue but I doubt we will.

I’ve never really been into NL, so I can’t really compare it with NH cause I’ve played just a little and then came back to the older games but WW is seriously on another level. I really can’t understand why they decided to make all the villagers lovely, pretty much a copy paste of how normals should be. Is there even a reason to have normal villagers in this game, except for the design? 😞

I think the problem is they added a lot of diverse dialogue for a lot of different things. Like cute clothes, sporty clothes, business clothes, comfy clothes... then sitting furniture, table furnitire, furniture with lights, toy furniture... and then for every friendship level, event, weekday, time of the day, month, season. So if you talk to villagers about nothing it'll repeat pretty quickly.

I don't have a problem with the snooties/crankies not being as mean. While I enjoy building a friendship with my villagers, for a lot of people, Animal Crossing serves as an escape from real life. Why let too much negativity crawl into something that is meant to be more positive and relaxing? I already deal with enough negative, mean, and toxic people in real life as it is, I don't need any more of that!

That being said, I would like to see more dialogue added for all the villagers as I experience a lot of repeating dialogue, sometimes even on the same day... :(

I don't see it happening, especially now that the game has gone mainstream. From my island experience, it seems that they shifted the snooty personalities to have more of a mature, refined elegance, and the uchi personality to be more blunt and laid back. So now the snippy comebacks are from the uchis, and the snooties will just quietly turn up their noses at you and be more like 'oh bless your sweet little heart' whenever you do or say something that rubs them the wrong way.

I really hope they do; this game in general has focused more on island design than actual interaction, which has kind of hurt its appeal to me over time. More obvious differences between the personalities would be nice! If I was a new player & not familiar with most of the villagers beforehand I would hardly be able to tell who is what, aside from the overly flanderized jocks lol.

I think they can open up new dialogue options. And to an extent, we've seen it already... (I'm look at you, cafe/museum update leaks)

I doubt they'll do any major personality changes like making villagers meaner, but I do think new dialogue can be implemented in the game through downloadable updates.

I would hope so. I don't miss the rudeness. I absolutely hated Truffles as a kid she was so mean. I do think they could add some more lines about villagers hobbies tho. Some are interested in trains or books. Maybe have them talk about their future jobs or family. The only time I remember them talking about their family and jobs is basically during April fools in New Leaf.

Nintendo has this information I just wished they did something with it you know. Maybe have certain personalities do certain activities more or know more stuff about fossils and etc.

The more features are added to the game, the more things villagers will start to mention or talk about I assume.

I agree! Although, I do miss a little bit of spice in the dialogues. Mean game cube version was definitely too much but a little bit wouldn’t hurt sometimes. Cranky should be cranky 😂

I think it's fine. As it currently stands, I don't really talk to my villagers that much anyway, so I really don't notice much repetition. I would be in favor of having more types of dialogue, however, but I don't think it's that big of a deal.

The only time when I notice a lot of repetition is whenever I'm asking a villager for a DIY or opening my gate / flying to someone else's town. Aside from cutting down on the dialogue for opening gates and travelling (e.g. I don't need to be told every time that I travel that I have a NMT on me), I think that the dialogue is fine as it is.

I wish this too. Especially good would be if they wrote into the code that if you talk to a cranky, then talk to another cranky, that they shouldn't say the exact same thing. Etc. This has happened to me so many times and it spoils the fun. There should be some way for them to say "ok that line was already said today. Pull it out of rotation for X amount of interactions." I feel like they did an incredible job on this game but one area where they came up short is dialogue. It feels undercooked.

Yeah. I wouldn't not mind a little more stuff like when you swipe a bug or fish from under them. I didn't expect Reneigh to turn to me and say anything but she did. For Cranky I think adding that they take a little more time to get to know what be great. The longer your friends the more you learn about them type deal. I would see the Peppy ones just over sharing thing from the get go.

I really don't think they'll add more regular dialog (of course they'll add event / festival dialog). It's nowhere near as bad as NL was with repetition. I honestly don't want villagers being mean to me. Frankly, I've had more than my fill from my Uchi! But I agree that they could use a bit more... oomph and personality, not just "nice".

likely not. they might add in a few new pieces of dialogue in updates but there’s really so many options they can make, y’know?
