do you think the update is too late?

I've played almost daily since release except I took two summers ago off because I was salty Maple moved. I love this game so much and the update just breathed even more life into it.

I was thinking about the possibility of New Leaf having amiibo update considering that Happy Home Designer and Amiibo Festival failed.

The game had a lot of potential if compared to the spin off games and the possibilities would be great.

It's weird to have New Leaf updated after all these years, but it was worth it.

I dont think it was too late. It got me playing again.

I don't think it was too late, mostly because of the reason I'm pretty sure they did it for. Sales for those new Animal Crossing games were probably not to their expectations, as were the Amiibos. The best and quickest way to get them to sell would definitely be through ACNL.

im using the nfc reader! it works like a charm ^^ no new 3ds here!

im actually really happy about it... i think its a sign nintendo really cares that we stay entertained. i actually already had a ton of amiibo but nothing to do with them, but now they serve a purpose! im not going to criticize them for something that didnt negatively affect me at all. im having a lot of fun with it, ive noticed an explosion in new leaf activity... not to mention its nice to know that they were aware of common user complaints and to know what features will likely be fixed in the next game that were fixed in this update.

Tbh i think they made the update because of that, the game was dying and they don't want that, so they released an update almost four years after release.

They released the update after the Switch reveal. Maybe it's to keep it up the popularity of the game and it's hinting a Switch release? Maybe they're trying to keep animal crossing more relevant when the game drops/gets announced on the Switch (if it does).

I just hope the Switch can use amiibo cards as well so I can have my dream town on it.

Yeah I know I've only been playing for 4 years but Isabelle says I have been mayor for 6 thought it'd be funny to throw that in there. Hope you get to experience the anniversary soon!

The game before the update wasn't dead for me. I've been playing since the release and still having fun every day.
Once a month I look at my town/houses and see what needs changing. The new update has added new things for my towns.

One player needs some new furniture for 2 rooms and the added gardening stuff is perfect. Not interested in the amiibo cards right now but will use them when I start my 5th town. I want all Mice.

My one worry is the New Update might be a delay in a New Animal Crossing game for the Switch.

I tend to judge games based on their price. The higher the price stays, the more well off it's doing. Basically, if Nintendo doesn't need to lower the price to get people to buy it, they won't, and ACNL's price has stayed pretty solid through the years. It still sells well, and people continue to talk about it and play it.

It has done the opposite for me. As a person who plans on quitting ACNL after two years, I came back to playing ACNL. Now I don't know when I will stop playing ACNL for good. But I wouldn't play all day.

I mean... I admit it was stale for a while. I hadn't picked up New Leaf for a long while and this honestly breathed new life into the game for me. Im excited to collect the new items and re-design parts of my town and my house. It seems like a fun update. And with the ability to talk and trade wirelessly, you dont actually need the amiibos to get the items. I see it similar to the region only DLC. If you cant get the amiibo or access to it at all, you can always trade with your peers ^^

I had quit animal crossing for a while, and even lent out my game so someone could see whether they wanted to buy it or not. When they returned it two weeks, I booted my game up for some nostalgia. Imagine my surprise when the game was updated almost immediately! (I've been out of the animal crossing loop for nearly two years)
For me, the update has sparked a new interest and I don't see myself putting down my console anytime soon. Even though I don't own any amiibos, just the nice little touches and storage expansion were enough to get me playing again). I plan on sticking around the forums this time.

You don't need the new 3DS to use amiibo.

I'm actually glad for the update. I haven't played any of my towns in many months, and I've finally come back to them. I like that they updated it with new items, villagers, etc. And the additional storage is incredible (36 more pages of slots aahhh!). I like the campground too, Harvey is pretty cool.

Honestly I hope they continue to update NL like this. I'd love even more items and new things.
