Do you think the island is "too easy"?

I personally think it's fine. Like everyone else said, a lot of the things in the game such as Gracie's furniture and clothing is quite expensive, so it evens it out. I never really got into the turnip trade, so this is the best way for me to make bells every night.

It pretty much balances out, but constantly going to the island and catching bugs gets pretty boring fast, so I've started investing in the Stalk Market, last week was my first time of it, and i came out with 3 Million more bells, This week im investing around 2 Million in hopes of getting a ton of bells so i can start to finish off my mortage, and spend on other projects, A lot of the things in the game are rather expensive so you need something to get a ton of bells

Yes, and I'm glad it is easy. I don't care if it reduces the usefulness of other methods. Nothing stops you from using those, heck, you could even just consider those 'lesser' methods bonus cash on top of the Island.

I don't really abuse the island as much as I should, but I try to at the very least make 250,000 a night from it. I use other methods on top of this (Turnips, etc) to increase my weekly earnings. It just depends how YOU want to play the game. Make it easier, or harder for yourself. Simple. As. That.

i used to go to the island a LOT and would only leave when my basket was full butni honedtly feel like it takes too long, is pretty tedious, and as mentioned above, gets boring pretty fast, so it pretty much evens out for me if only for that lmao

tbf tho, i havnt rlly done much of anything to get anywhere near "completing" the game fully if u include stuff like all the furniture, clothes, sets, etc and stuff
heck, i havnt even caught a coelocanth yet smh

If you compare it to the other games, then yes. But I don't think it's too easy. ^_^

Well this is the most expensive animal crossing game with the public work projects, ordinances, and loans so having a constant source of a good sum of money is necessary. I found getting money was difficult in wild world and city Folk.

I agree with everyone that, when compared to other games, yes it is 'easy' but NL has so much more to spend bells on that you need to have some way to earn a lot. One complete player house alone will cost you millions of bells and that's not even getting into buying Gracie furniture, PWPs, or the fact that I believe the gold badge for saving bells in the ABD is for 100,000,000 or some stupid number like that. Without the island, it'd take years to build up the money necessary for everything in the game. Yes, the Stalk Market is a thing, but it's not a sure thing and the window for the morning check is so narrow for people who have work or school.

well uh Its so so. I did go on island after 6pm, as many rare bugs avaliable. hunting for fossils in the Town which already has in musem sells for a good price.
I dont really get to play my NL game often due to school reasons. I would consider buying tunips during sundays but i keep waking up too late

I've never once thought about the island being "too easy" to make bells from. Sure, you can make a lot of bells from catching rare bugs and fish, but you still have to catch them and then go sell them! I remember spending up to 2 hours at a time on the island, just to get around 300k bells. I wouldn't call that easy lol

Also it gets pretty tiring after a while, so I wouldn't necessarily say it's a totally efficient way to make bells either.

meh, I know a lot of people don't like the spirit of beetle hunting but I think it's fine. I always really enjoyed it as a way to earn bells and if people don't to do it then they don't have to

I go to the island for like 1 - 1.5 hours and make around 300k on average. That being said though, spending that much time just walking in circles looking for bugs can get really old real fast so I only do an island run like once or twice a week. I have 2.5m in the bank, trying to reach 4.5m to have enough for all my future PWPs but I end up spending what I have on hand a lot to fill my catalog.

I definitely don't think so. When I first started playing New Leaf I didn't know about this forum or the massive Animal Crossing community out there and so I basically just grinded for hours on the game to get enough Bells to pay off my loan, PWPs as well as support my ridiculous shopping habits.

Besides, yielding a good result on the island takes a fair bit of time and patience so I don't think it's too easy. Bells do seem to come faster in this game than in any of the others but there also seem to be more expenses so I guess it balances out.

Hm, yes and no.

Sure, since the island is a thing now, it is way more easier to make bells, while it was in fact more
"harder" in the previous games, as something like the island didn't existed back then. Compare to
the other Animal Crossing games, I didn't had so much trouble in New Leaf to get enough bells to
buy items, pay for my house or PWPs thanks to the island. So if you need quick bells the island is
a perfect option. Then again, it isn't that easy to get bells that fast, as you still need time and
patience at the island to catch all those rare bugs and fishs that gives you the most bells. I at
least running most of the time around the island, as it takes like forever till new bugs or fishs
shows up after I catched or scared away some. It's not like that at every second you find like
on every tree a rare bug or tons of sharks swimming at the ocean which you can catch so easy
with no trouble.

So yeah, the island makes it easier to get bells, but like I said you still need to spend time and
also need patience to catch them all, which makes it not that easy after all in my opinion.

Outside of buying them on the forum, what do you think is a faster way to make bells in ACNL? Obviously there are turnips which is great once you have a lot of money built up, but I can't think of anything that is better money than the island.

I think it's fine as its at least not direct bells: you still have to somewhat work for them. Then considering the amount of bells needed in the game, millions for your house and to get the bell badge you have to save 100,000,000... I think it's okay.

I mean not really.
You have to grind to get bells if you need them, and the island is a good option to help that.
I've been playing since release and have millions saved in my ABD. And it helps using tbt here to get items if needed.

Overall I feel like the balance is fine
