Anyone else like me? Bells aren't really something that are hard to make if you play the stalk market, iron and wood are more valuable to me. Anyone else just buy tools from Nook's Cranny instead?
I do a combination of both because I like how some of the tools at Nook's Cranny look but I still lean more towards crafting.
Especially for the fishing rod and the net which don't need many supplies, I'll often just craft them.
I did for the longest time, but now that I have a material's shop on Nook's Cranny, and the fact I need to save as many iron nuggets as possible, I'm starting to buy them more. However, I want to achieve the Nook Miles achievement for amount of tools crafted, so I will have to find a balance.
I'm sure I would have much more disposable income if I could be bothered to buy massive amounts of turnips at once and go through the effort to find strangers' islands to sell them on. I'm not even done paying off my basement loan.
I did a thread asking this question a while ago and I think people's answers have converted me a little - I used to still craft everything, but learning that you can customize the Nook's Cranny tools too was a game changer for me. Now I craft the fishing rod, net and watering can (I have an overabundance of softwood) while I like to purchase the shovels and slingshots and just customize them when I remember to. For stone axes I can't be bothered to visit the Nook's in between breakages, so I still craft them. I almost never use the sharp axe.
For me it depends on the time of day... I do tend to play around 5 AM to 7 AM most mornings and do my morning routine. And if a tool breaks I just craft another one. But if the Nooklings are open, then I will buy a tool instead.
So if they are closed, and one breaks then I will just craft it, but if they are open then I will buy one.
hardly ever lolll. i dont enjoy farming mats, so i hate when things require hardwood and just tend to buy at least the basic flimsy tools at nook's and then upgrade them after i've used them a while. tends to be nicer to not have so much breakage/is more bang for your buck that way, i feel.
Nah I buy them all from Nook's Cranny now. As well as the convenience, I like the variety of designs you can get from buying them there aswell, and like mixing and matching them with my outfits.
I buy tools from Nooks Cranny and keep customizing them to extend their durability. I know there are a few nook miles achievements that involve crafting tools, but I'll get back to it whenever I feel like it.
i will until i get those sweet sweet nook miles achievements and then i’m over it lmao. it’s a hassle and such a waste of wood but i wanna complete it all haha.
I'm trying to complete the nook miles tasks for crafting and it takes a lot to complete so I'm still building it. Although I do buy the flimsy shovel and craft to upgrade it. I buy the axe straight from the store. The fishing rod and net I craft with all the branches I get on the daily from tree shaking, usually about 4/5 of them. Once I complete the task, I plan on buying everything straight from the store.
I like buying the tools at Nook's Cranny because they're so much cuter. Then I have back ups for each one in case mine breaks and they're closed. I try to always just customise them but sometimes I lose track of how much I used them. So when the back up breaks, I'll craft and customise the crafted one until the specific tool I want is back in stock, so I buy 2 (one for the back up). I'll then use that crafted tool until it breaks and switch over to the bought tool and repeat the cycle. I figure I'll reach the nook mile reward by crafting the axes and stone ax. It'll be slow but at least it still works towards it.
It depends in the moment what I find more convenient. More often than not, I'll just buy tools from Timmy & Tommy's shop because I'd rather pay the bells than bother to craft. However, sometimes I'll have excess materials on hand that I want to burn through, so I'll craft. Additionally, sometimes the Nooklings are closed, so I'll be forced to craft in those circumstances if my tools break.
