Cash, Money, Quiche, Dinero, Cash-money, Bacon, Moo-lah, Simoleons... I probably have more nicknames for it but my sick brain can't think of them.

I say both. The only time I say cash is when I am referring to the bills themselves. Otherwise it is just money.
 
I say money unless I'm specifically talking about bills. When I'm referring to American currency, and specifically talking about hard cash in my wallet, I will say cash.
 
I started saying 'dosh' because of this


But otherwise, yeah, 'cash' is the physical item and 'money' is the construct.
