do you run in your town?

I always run unless I'm near my flower fields, but reading through the thread everyone keeps mentioning dirt and worn grass and deserts...
I have a bunch of dirt patches all over my town, most there from the day the town was created, and now I'm afraid they'll be there forever?? I thought that planting flowers on the dirt and watering them would help the grass to grow, am I wrong?

There are dirt patches that everyone starts out with that you cannot remove. As for grass deterioration, I'm not completely sure how to bring it back. Planting flowers on it never worked for me but not running over it helps. Also when it starts to snow all of it will come back.

I run all the time and everywhere in my town. I don't have paths, or many hybrids, so I don't really care if I trample flowers. It's the easiest way to get around.
i've been running throughout my town but only on my paths,
that's because i'm working towards a natural town with dirt paths.
i've done it before so i can do it again!

Yeah I run all over my grass everywhere like a maniac because I'm impatient. But usually once I put paths down, I stick to them religiously. I just don't have any paths yet in my 3 in-progress towns.

Yup! I'm gonna put paths down soon though as I don't really want to do too much damage haha!
I try not to, but sometimes I just get really impatient >< like if I need to clear my pockets or have been running back and forth doing something. Once I break into a run, usually I just run everywhere for the rest of the play, because otherwise it feels too slow.... It's a bad habit, lol.
I used to run like a maniac until I was told that was a big factor in ruining my grass. Now I only run on some of my paths and where I know the ground is stone. Like in front of the train station, town hall, retail and the plaza. I run on the beach as well but I do have hybrids lining both sides of the beach so I still have to be careful. I will admit that I do miss running like it doesn't matter, it really sucks when I'm in hurry. But at least I still have some safe places to do it and I can always tear up Main Street
I'm personally not a huge fan of walking, for me when I walk it takes 20 years to get from A to B. That's why in my town I don't go flower crazy to the point where I have to always be careful with each step I take. I'm just a lazy impatient mayor I suppose haha.

I used to run until I learned about grass wear. It's a pretty dumb mechanic tbh. Occasionally, I'll get impatient if I'm doing last minute shopping or island bug hunting to sell at Retail. But that's extremely rare nowadays. =v=

Normally I just run on the paths. Normally. There are many times where I just run through my town but I'll avoid the flowers. When I have all flowers I won't be running anymore ha.
