Do you prepare a special lot for your favorite villagers?

Yes I do, based on various factors:

- Pietro is a clown so I made him a circus area with a carousel and such
- Frank's house is green and tropical looking (so is he) so I put him on the beach with palm trees, coconut juice etc with KK Aloha playing
- Tammy and Stiches are bears so I made them a bear area with all the bear and panda toys dotted around
- Elvis and Leonardo and lion and tiger so I gave them an important area near Resident Services so they can be security. ;)
- Muffy is a bit scary looking and has a gothic house so I put horror stuff like skeletons and things around it
- Carrie was very boring so I just made a yard with loads of laundry outside it. Thankfully she moved out yesterday.

The remaining two don't really have any special plots for now.

I get overwhelmed by the amount of space and things you can do with the game sometimes, so building areas based on my villagers really helps with creativity/focus.

I only have one neighborhood of 4 villagers (Molly, Wolfgang, Bluebear, Fuchsia) with equal decent size lots filled with stuff that fit their personality. They’re the ones who have yards but their lots aren’t so special since they only have, well, yards. Although they share a super huge English garden / park in the middle of their community. The remaining 6 villagers I have don’t have yards and instead live in their own specific areas and they’re the ones with the majestic houses because their areas are super themed and decorated. Zucker and Genji live in Little Asia and they share their own spa and bamboo forest. Maple and Stitches live in a forest with a picnic area near a heart shaped lake overlooking the campsite. Judy lives in the highest point of my island, the stargazing / wishing area filled with nova lights and celestial stuff because she’s my little nebula baby. And then, Marshal lives with me in our three-tiered coastal compound near the secret beach because he’s my bestest boy and I have this tradition where he’s the ONLY villager allowed to live near my house (this stemmed from how we met way back NL) since we have a lot of history together.

Mine are all different sizes. The yard size mostly just depended on where there house was rather than how much I like them.
My jock has a very large yard. I justify it being so big cause it doubles as my gym area lol.
(Still a wip btw)

I actually grouped villagers by their aesthetics! Not necessarily by whose my favorite (though if that were the case, Punchy would have a kingdom LOL)

I just got Genji's amiibo and him and Pekoe are getting a "demon-slayer"/"ATLA" inspired area, I decorated it with hyacinth lamps, bamboo trees, katanas, you get the idea!

I haven't figured out my other villagers though...though I do want Judy to live near my moon lake/zodiac area!

I guess the way i see it, I'm using my villagers exterior homes as parts of my island rather than giving them big yards (which take up a lot of room understandably), though sometimes I think about the neighborhood idea and how much room that gives me :'(

I have given Reneigh and Sherb fully fleshed out yards. Reneigh's is basically a bamboo garden with a waterfall in the back, and Sherb's is shown below. There is an outdoor cafe next to Olaf's house but that isn't really his "yard" per se.

This is want I do as well. Olaf's yard is an outdoor cafe. Tia's connects to a beautiful pond area and a nature trail (will probably change her location, and give this area to Erik.) Hamlet's yard is basically a sand pit/play area. I also plan on giving Audie a cool, beach yard, with a rock climbing wall.
