I finally after many tries when villagers leave or as I was filling house in the beginning got Audie today. It was from a mystery island anc don'task how many nook mile tickets I have used. It worked perfectly because the villager that left had the largest lot. She will move in tomorrow and I want to make the lot look special for her. Has anyone done up a lot for a special villager? If so what did you do. I am looking for ideas.
I created neighborhoods based on house color - that they looked nice together. And all yards are the same. I didn't give much in the way of individual yards, because I was pressed for room, but there's a common area in each neighborhood.
My houses are all too close to each other for me to be able to give them proper gardens so I'm considering changing this, but even if I increase the space between the houses I think I would make all their gardens the same size. I would just use decorations that would suit them to make it special.
The way I did my town to start there were two lots that were bigger due to their location. The rest I grouped together at the top. I am now trying to figure out what kind of style to do in the lot that Audie is moving into tomorrow. It has pine trees now with a forest look. I want to make it brighter and more feminine. It was flips house. He was 9ne of the two original villagers.
The only thing that I did special was give them certain flowers. Every home in my town gets roses, my native flower. My two favorite villagers in town both got golden roses because to me they seem to be the most special or prized I guess. I have Lily of the Valley outside of my house, and every other home has roses in a color that match the resident. Now that I say it out loud I almost feel like I've somehow designed a hierarchy on my island but really Cleo and Dom are my best friends so I want to spoil them and my favorite flower us Lily of the Valley so it just worked out that way.

All of my villagers have yards with nice outdoor furniture though, mostly outdoor haha.
Nope. I'd like to have a good size yard for each villager, while somehow being able to save space around the rest of the island if possible. It looks weird to have one house have more yard space than others because it doesn't look consistent. I'm not even going to do that for my own house.
I have two different “neighborhoods” in my island one area has a bigger yard and the other doesn’t compared to the first but for my favorite villagers I put a music box behind their house with their favorite K.K. song
My houses are kinda spread out so yes I do I made a hill for Sterling and put a moat around his house, I even gave him a little bridge for the moat so his part of town is pretty expensive just for one villager haha
Mac also has a nice place but just coincidentally really, he isn't one of my favourites he was just living someplace I decided I didn't want houses anymore. He lives at a cliff on the beach now next to a waterfall it's pretty nice given he's not a favourite.
i do make them equal, i like to keep it symmetrical. i just keep their outdoor furniture or design as per their theme. marshal & punchy are my favorites, and it's not exactly in their yard itself, but next to their yard happens to be a pond (for marshal) and a waterfall lake (for punchy). so it does look like i spoil them lmao. marina just happened to be near the entrance so her house is next to this grand waterfall.
Yes I do, I try to spread their houses out throughout the map so that I can see all my villagers everywhere! I have like maple in a forest thing with lots of trees, dirt, flowers and even some hives for her honey addiction
I put Judy and Julian on the highest mountain in my town to be as close to the sky as possible with then having celeste themed items there like the moon, asteroid, things like that.
Size-wise, all of my villager's yards are more or less the same. It varys by a little, but not much. I think my designated duck-lot is the biggest due to the objects I wanted to fit in her yard. I try to decorate all of the lots according to the animal living there (still a WIP) and don't do favorites in that regard. Just by looking at their lots, I don't think you could tell who my favorites are.
They all have special lots! I make small gardens for every one of them, with more or less items.
I do have one neighborhood (out of my 3) with a little less yard space than the others, so I try to keep the villagers for whose I don't have big ideas for a garden there.
Yes, I have given Flurry a small island to herself in the middle of my island m. She has two waterfalls to each side and is prettier than my current lot. I love her
