For my mayor, I plan on making her house fairly large. I don't know if it will be fully expanded though. I know I want all the rooms, but I plan on keeping them pretty small. As for my other character, her house is only going to have a small second story and that's it. I want her house to be like a cottage and it wouldn't make sense for it to be large.

What about you guys? I'm just wondering if I'm the only person that doesn't prefer a large house. :)

I usually upgrade it fully and I always regretted it. I'm way too particular about it. If all of my furniture sets and exterior don't completely match a certain theme then it bothers me. When I restarted in January I decided to keep my house one fully expanded room. I'll definitely keep it like it is now. I have the sloppy set inside and the shabby exterior.

I'm doing the upstairs, the main room, the basement, and the room in the back all fully expanded but I'm not going to do the left room or the right because I like the natural light of the windows that you lose when you make those rooms.

Fully expanded
For what I'm going I like them all to be expanded plus feel better for me

I technically have two characters. My first one is my playing character and I'm trying to get her house fully expanded. My second is just having a house as is for now, but I might expand it eventually since I want a different furniture set in each of the rooms. I'm also using my four museum exhibits to show off four different furniture sets. Since I named my town after my significant other's pet name I have for him I also made a character with his pet name to live in the town with my character. I guess I didn't like the idea of having a town where a character who is supposed to be me lives without my significant others likeness living there as well. What can I say, I guess I'm a diehard romantic.

i have never fully expanded my house. with my first town, i left my mayor's house with only an attic and a basement , the other characters only had the first room, or an attic added to it. i dont like the fully expanded houses, i feel like it would be too cluttered and too much to see. just having one room or two is cute a much more stylish, to me anyway :P

I always fully expand the house but I like it better smaller. Big rooms can be a hassle to decorate sometimes because there is too much space in them.

It really depends on what you plan on doing with your mayor & side characters tbh. In my main town, I expanded everyone's houses because I knew I was going to use every room possible because it was a theme town. For my second town, I'm hesitating to expand my mayor's house because I don't know what to do with it yet and it's very likely I'll keep my side characters' homes on the smaller scale to give it that contrast with my first town.

So it all depends on whether you prefer and what your town vision is. :)

I feel like I need the storage, so I always fully expand it. My challenge is to keep it decorated rather than just stuffing in the items I'm hoarding.

My mayor's is expanded with all rooms, but my mules I keep smaller because it's cute. I love the look of the houses when they are first built. They're so tiny *_* My side character, Nyssa, takes care of the shrine, so she lives a very humble little life in the tiniest little zen house.

attic, main floor, and basement are fully expanded. the rooms on the left and right are small and i won't be adding on a back room. sometimes i regret even adding on side rooms, but i needed some space or i'd be rotating my furniture way too much.

I have every room in my house. They are all 6x6 except the main room and upstairs, they are 8x8. I find I like the look of 6x6 rooms very much and I only expand those when I run out of space. I'm satisfied with my house now though so I don't think I'll expand any more.

my other characters are full expanded (or planning to be)

mine house isn't...I don't want a backroom
but that may change
