Honestly it depends, I much prefer going on tours with friends because well it's overall alot more fun (Especially if your in a skype call together!) and I enjoy the extra medals. I also just love visiting other people's towns and stuff (But you can just as easily do this alone through the dream suite.) So I don't know to be honest when it comes to like bug collecting and doing tasks I prefer to be myself.
My villagers are my friends. B') I only have one real life friend who plays Animal Crossing, and since she can't play on the week days we're rarely on at the same time. I feel uncomfortable talking to my friends when we aren't in person anyway.
alone I kinda feel akwakard when I have friends over in my town since I'm never sure what to do lol
even when I have people come to my town to give me payment for comm. I feel awkward as well
I'm just really self conscious about my town
though the only times I play ACNL with others is during skype calls
it makes it more better and you don't have to deal with the message feature
I prefer playing by myself. I get super anxious talking with others, and I'm garbage at typing on the keyboard (which is made worse since I usually type long sentences).
Besides trades (even trades make me super anxious), I can usually do island tours since we have a goal in mind and can just shoot for that (and we can't really talk much during the tours anyway), but just going into towns to hang out and chat makes me feel uncomfortable. One person is fine, but in a group, I usually end up not talking, which isn't fun for me or everyone else. If I had close friends who played the game, I could probably do that, but it's a little uncomfortable with strangers.
mostly i have my own things to do in town, like catching bugs or something and i can't be bothered to entertain them. i also am perpetually concerned about voided villagers, and feel like a jerk asking them about it.
i enjoy trading and seeing other people's towns, but it's pretty stressful worrying about disconnecting. so i suppose overall, i prefer playing alone. were i at 10 villagers and not anxious about d/c'ing, i'd probably say otherwise.
Without, cause none of my irl friends play ac and I don't feel like inviting anyone to play with me, cause I'm super awkward and the message system sucks Sometimes I play with my sister though.
I like both, but sometimes I find it hard to make friends because I'm an older player (29) and apparently to some players that makes me a weird?! I don't talk about personal stuff in-game, I really just enjoy going to the island with people to do tours and generally mess around and have fun. It can get kinda lonely to play alone all the time, and I've put so much effort into my town I like to have friends over to share it, and visit their towns too. I agree with previous posters that the messaging system is really annoying to use though, I really have to be in the mood for wi-fing to put up with it.
When I first started the game (from AC City Folk - ACNL), I played solo/alone, literally had barely friends (2 trustworthy friends) but none of them played Animal Crossing as they thought it was excuse my language, ******** >_<
Up until a few months ago I literally had no one to play Animal Crossing but then I met someone in Club Tortimer and he was really nice and kind ^_^
I really enjoyed playing with him when I nothing to do as after you done all your chores. Few months after I came to a xat chat and made lots of friends there and I'm glad I have people to play with even if I don't know them IRL. Just this made me comfortable playing the game longer haha. But that's my story anyway
But if you really want my opinion, I enjoy playing with other friends~!
I'm a lonely boy, I'm a lonely boyyy...
Playing in wifi can be cool but I'd rather play on my own, especially because I don't have close friends playing AC. This doesn't mean that I don't enjoy playing sometimes with others, wifi-ing is the reason why I came to this forum.
Ahaha I'm a loner.
Playing with friends is fun on the occasion, but I'd rather play by myself. Plus, it restricts the use of talking to villagers for a quest and they would start mentioning the visitor in their chats later on :/
...That, and I'm really paranoid if they do something to my town.
And my friends irl don't really care for Animal Crossing/doesn't own a 2/3DS console ;-;
