unfortunately, I think I’ve come to prefer digital games for convenience, but I don’t like that I don’t actually “own” anything. I think physical media is becoming more important and valuable, but I also hate clutter and feel like I already have too much of it haha!

It's a little sad how small the (physical) video game section has become at a lot of stores. Long gone are the days of wandering into a store and finding a hidden gem or making an impulse game purchase. There was something fun about seeing a game on sale with an interesting cover art, taking it off the shelf, looking at the couple screenshots on the back and deciding to buy it. Feels like a lifetime ago! 👴

Whichever ends up being the cheapest. Though there are times where I get a game physically as digitally isn't available for a certain game anymore

I prefer digital games now, as delivery is instant and extremely convenient as if I ever forget my cartridges I can still play! Plus, I've had a few games after years of playing every so often I get an error message saying that the cartridge may be damaged.

I went to a video game store a while back to purchase a Switch 2 accessory... there was a big line. But nobody was buying games. And, nobody was "shopping". They, like me, walked right in and got in line to buy what they already had in mind, and almost all of them were also buying console controllers and similar things.

I saw shelves of physical games, that nobody was looking at...

How long will these stores last?

I prefer physical games! I'm not sure what it is, but I just want to collect the physical cartridge!

It's a good question. I don't know why or what would make things swing back to how they used to be, probably won't happen. The sad thing is Gamestop, which is a store full of games... just sucks in so many ways. I don't even waste my time going in there anymore. You buy a new game, it's already opened, prices are high a lot of the time. Wish there was a good chain that specialized in games!
