I personally prefer manga, Ive got a whole masdive shelf full of it.

One of my favorite genres is BL (Boy live, big surprise) and I find the manga alot more cute, and tame compared to the ones in anime format.

My favorite manga No.6, got the worst anime adaptation, I mean they changed so much. Main is that they gave rat a name, when one of the parts of the story is he never shares it. But seriously. Read the manga, its so much more better.

Ill stop myself from ranting, but which do you prefer?

That's a good question. I like both. The big problem is, that Anime are often not true to the original (lightnovel or manga) or they are missing the proper end (because manga not finished, not enough seasons etc.).

I do like to watch anime and read the manga afterwards because I want to know how it is supposed to be. You also get the extended story lol

Genres... I like everything honestly. I also watched No. 6. It is the favorit of my younger sister.

I prefer to watch anime. Usually I am a books before movies/series person, but I just can't get into looking at Manga. The pages overwhelm me, my eyes skip all over the place and I always accidentally spoil myself because I can't seem to remember in which order to read the pictures. I know I'm missing out on a LOT of content of some of my favourite pieces of media, but I can't help it.

I prefer manga! Anime are interesting too, but mangas are more accessible for me. 😊

Anime- it's much easier for me to get invested in something when it's in motion/has sound.
Manga is a lot harder for me to get into, though I for some reason I don't have a problem with the Webtoon format.

Anime. It is cheaper and easier to acquire with the streaming services that exist now. Takes less room too.

I prefer anime. I’m not the biggest fan of manga.

Depends very heavily on the series, but usually manga. I like how I can control the reading pace and usually they have more diverse art styles

I find myself reading manga and manhwas more than I watch anime. Unless an artist is sick or absent for some other reason, they tend to update a bit quicker than anime. In addition, there’s more options to choose from.

I like both but lately I've found myself enjoying manga more because at least that has a better chance of finishing the story. Bloom Into You is one of my favorite shows of all time; it was extremely successful, won awards and was even popular outside of its expected demographic. But five years later, and they haven't even entertained the idea of adapting the latter half of the manga. And this has happened for so many series that I follow, it's frankly a tad disappointing.

I generally prefer to watch anime, but I find that I often prefer their manga counterparts. Off the top of my head, this is true for Berserk and Shigurui.

i’m not really into either, but i’ve enjoyed anime more. i went through an anime phase when i was in middle school and early high school since my then friend group was into it, and i enjoyed the ones i watched, but i never got into manga.

Ooh this one's tough for me because both have really good points! ;w; Anime is more accessible for me so there's less monetary risk with trying a new series, and of course there's the appeal of full-color animation with voice acting and music to complement the story-telling. Of course, sometimes anime make less-than-stellar changes to storylines (and sometimes it's a real coinflip to see if my favorite scenes will translate gorgeously to the screen or get horribly butchered in the process), and especially in the case of long-running battle shonen, the manga usually has significantly better pacing. Anime that cover the entire story of the manga are pretty uncommon too.
So I guess I'd say I like to try anime and then buy the manga if I enjoy it! ^^ I've got a bit of a manga backlog to work through at the moment, but once I'm more caught up with it I've definitely got a couple series in mind to start buying.

I like both but if i'm interested in something, I will start with the anime first, then if i like it, I will read the manga that I know will be way better and complete than the anime.

I have never read a single manga. Anime is much more accessible; I'd have to actively seek out manga, whereas I used to watch anime series on Toonami and [adult swim] back when I had cable, I used to watch stuff on Crunchyroll before they were purchased by Sony and merged with Funimation and given a mandatory subscription fee, and there are a few series on other streaming services as well. As the saying goes, you can't swing a dead cat without hitting anime in today's market. It's everywhere.

That all said, I feel like I ought to make an effort to get into manga. As a creative, I prefer to experience stories as they were envisioned and developed by their authors. That's part of why I watch foreign language movies and most anime subbed instead of dubbed, because dubs can be prone to varying degrees of translators/adapters taking creative liberties with dialogue and such. I realize this is a bit of a poor argument since subs can probably be subject to such issues sometimes, but suffice it to say that if I were to learn whatever language a movie/series/book/etc. was in then I would simply watch or read it in its native language without any middlemen. Additionally, sometimes things from the manga don't get adapted when made into anime, like some aspects in Yu Yu Hakusho. That's one of my favorite anime series and I feel like I ought to read the manga to deepen my appreciation for the series I've loved for so many years.

it depends on the series and how true the anime is to the source material 👀 i do appreciate anime since i can multitask while watching something. if it's a series i really like, i'll try and go out of my way to read the manga if there is one. i like taking my time to read the source material cause i feel like that's the best way to get what the mangaka intended to get across, if that makes sense

I prefer manga, but with how limited my free time is, I find anime is better for me these days. It doesn't help that manga is usually so expensive retailing at £5-10 each, I just can't afford to buy them unless it's a short series.

I always read manga more often than I watched anime, even when I was more obsessed with certain series back when I was 14-17 years old. I used to pick up several volumes at once from the library. However, I did watch some episodes of the anime and/or anime movies from time to time. But now I’m strictly a manga reader.
