Do you plot reset?

I plot reset for each new move-in, but I don't have any super specific spots where I want them to go. I just don't want them on paths/on flowers/etc. I actually prefer the way it looks when villager's houses aren't perfectly aligned or somewhat scattered. I personally find it really boring to see all 10 houses in a perfectly straight line, but that's just me.

100% same with me. I don't care where they go so long as it isn't somewhere stupid. Stay away from my trees or my flowers, and don't settle down directly in front of/behind a building, and I'm golden.
Putting everyone in a line is too... perfect. It just looks odd.

I let them plop down where. They want, I don't really plan on laying out my town until I get closer to having most of the villagers I want. I move anything I don't want ruined like hybrids around the edges of town for now.

I usually do... depends on how permanent that villager is. I kind of like the challenge of having to work around a house because it keeps the town changing. There are a few spots in my town that I know I do not want to have a house in, so I'm trying to plot PWP's around there. I just need to actually unlock the ones I want...
With the villagers I cycle, I do not plot reset. I cycle slow enough, don't want to plot reset all that.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. I have specific locations planned out where I want my "permanent" villagers to plot. I have racks of rice positioned all around my town to limit the plotting positions so it hasn't really taken that long for the homes to get in the spot I want them.

No I find it to be a waste of time, personally. if they move if in a bad spot then they can move out my town.

I never did any plot resetting in Celadon. For the others, sometimes I do, sometimes I don't. It depends on my mood.

No, plot resetting is time consuming and I don't really care where the villagers put their houses, as long as it's not in a bad spot. I haven't even really needed to plot reset, all my villagers move into a really good spot. I hope it stays this way. xD

It's funny - I had someone send me a PM asking how many hours I spent plot resetting to get all my villagers where they are. I don't think they believed me when I said I didn't. Sometimes I wish I did so that I could have made them line up perfectly, but I would have ended up throwing my DS against a wall trying!

I almost gave up getting all my dogs because it was so hard to get my unwanted villagers to ping to leave, and it was so tedious getting them to do it! I adopted all 10 dogs in just 5 days, so I had to do a lot of TTing back and forth to get rid of the old villagers. I can't imagine how stressful it would have been trying to make them move in the exact right spot!

I'm glad that I have all my dreamy dogs now, not just because I adore them so much, but also because I don't ever have to worry about where a new villager will plop down their house again!!!

I plot reset but I can't dedicate myself to it.
I've spent hours plot resetting and it gets pretty annoying.
Usually I don't go with the perfect spot, just one that looks good in the end...

All thanks to the adorable lazy Clay,who is the 6th villager,
who also had his house planted firmly right in front of mine -
this mayor learned a hard lesson on the importance of plot reset.

Thankfully I very much prefer 'scattered' housing placement, and not going for anything remotely lined up,
I usually spend a day or two plot resetting, that would be roughly 8-12 hrs max total.

As others pointed out before, PWPs are your friend when it comes to plot reset.
Plan ahead, and with a bench here, a topiary there, it saves you a looooot of time & sanity.

Yup, but I'm less anal about it if the villagers aren't a permanent fixture and just try so they're not destroying bushes or paths.
I'm making an attempt to try and move all my permanent villagers to the bottom 1/3rd of my map.

I just reset until someone is in a decent spot. No grand plan. Just until it feels right.

I don't reset them into specific spots, just into places where they don't block or destroy anything.
