Do you plan to make your own island more "Tropical"?

Would you?

i plan to plant more hibiscus starts and drop off flowers from tours. and plant more banana trees.

I started off beetle farming and it just stayed that way. Never though of decorating it until now... Wish it was a little bigger or there were special Island villagers like on ACGC.

No, my island is very practical haha! I have one regular tree on my island and i believe six palms, only in the top part of the island. This way catching bugs is easier. I have a looooot of stumps!! Haha. I never added extra flowers, I just have the flowers that were there before.

My island has no flowers or middle trees to help with catching beetles. However, I have decorated it with shells and lychee fruit baskets. It is fun to place shells on the ledge between the grass and the sand. In certain spots it looks like they fall into the rock. :)

Since I farm for beetles quite a lot, my island is pretty bare. I think once I'm got to a nice enough amount of bells in my account, I'll probably start decorating it to make it look a lot nicer.

I use my island as storage. Whenever I'm playing tours or Island Hopping, I always be sure to buy or pick up items I plan on using, in this case hibiscus plants, tropical fruit, giant clam shells, etc. I also store my jabob ladders there, because I had too many in my town for more to spawn. Of course, getting them there was tedious, but it's well worth it.

I'm hoping to put my island back together once I get the Gold Bell badge and migrate my unused items to my other accounts.

Are there different island sizes? In some pictures I've seen, the islands seem to have a larger green area (the middle of the island) or more sand than mine.

About the current topic, I really like the idea of decorating my island and I'm sure I'll do it eventually. I haven't wrecked my island for beetle farming but it's not too far from the default.

Mines doesn't look very tropical as I use it to catch bugs ocassionally, and the bushes just attract low priced bugs. I don't really mind too much if it looks tropical or not to be honest

that was my plan from the start, it needs a lot of hardwork though, those bushes....

I was thinking of when I have time i'm going to beetle farm so much so I get really rich, but then make it tropical afterwards so I can do more casual beetle farming
there's prizes for maxing out your cash machine see, that's mainly why, otherwise I wouldn't need so much money :)

Trying to do a combination between island looking reasonably pretty, and also good for beetle farming - stitchmaker: how do you take hybrids to the island?!

After I got all the bells I needed, I decided to pretty up the island with some flowers and fruits. It looked a lot nicer after that. :)

//EDIT: Do flowers wilt on the island? Like, maybe on the sand?

I've left it the way it is.

Wearing them in your hair/mouth and breeding them there :)

Never bothered.
Anyways, all the trees/flowers/bushes have been cut down or removed because I was too busy Beetle hunting to make my first million Bells. Then got into Turnip selling and practically abandoned the island...
...Rest in Peace island. And the economy. :(
