Do you plan to make your own island more "Tropical"?

You know, add more trees, palm trees, flowers and bushes to make it even more Tropical. I plan on doing that, it'll be fun to do.

Or are you a more destructive person that you ruin your island just to beetle farm.

I put mine back once I was done with beetle hunting.
Took a few blue roses to the island and have planted them there.
Made sure to plant a few white flower to catch the orchid mantis. The villagers in my other town requested one.
It's easier to find on the island than in a town that has a lot of white flowers.

Chopped down some trees since I'm beetle farming but once I'm done I'm going to make it into my own tropical island.

I'm leaving it the way it is. Besides, it's pretty wrecked up from beetle farming, and I don't think I will be returning to the island anytime soon.

I use mine to beetle farm. I don't think I'll worry about restoring it. Still, I'll never say never. Maybe, IF I ever complete my Museum and get my badges I just MAY restore it.

I did use mine for beetle farming in the beginning a lot. I did attempt to redecorate (it still looks like crap though) but I think I might just take it all down again XD

Since fishing for money in the islands won't really make a difference anymore, I might as well consider doing this.

I usually visit the island around 7pm, when the music is slower. I find it relaxing, it's a nice way to end the day. Some trees would be nice and nature patterns would be nice. It would've been even better if PWPs were available for the island.

How do you make your island into a beetle farm

It depends on what type of beetles you want, I guess. If you just want a general 'beetle farm', I would suggest planting both palm and non-palm trees. For more regularly seen beetles, plant in the middle area. For the rarer beetles, plant palm trees in the sand.

I chopped down most of my Lychee trees on the centre part. I kept one just so that I could replant if I ever wanted to. I kept the hibiscus flowers too, just in case someone in town wanted a specific butterfly.

I did cut down the banana trees on the south of the island; the angle was so bad for catching bugs. x_x


@Greninja you do that by cutting down the fruit trees & hibiscus shrubs that are planted on grass. They attract the cheaper bugs. You then only have the banana/coconut trees on the sand, which attract the more lucrative bugs, so you don't need to waste time chasing away the cheap bugs.

Just make sure you dont plant too many trees and you should be good. Fewer trees would make beetles spawn rate go higher rather than many trees.

I planted a load of lemon trees and palms way back when I started the game, and added flowers from gardening tours. But it's very messy, and I always think I'll grab a load of other fruits and stuff and make it looks all nice...but I'm so damn lazy and I always forget. One day I probably will have a go, when I really need something to do, lol. I've seen some beautifully decorated ones, where people have bought in hybrids from their town (by wearing them in their hair) and lots of hibiscus bushes.

Since I stopped bug and fish hunting I have decorated my island. I have coconut and banana palms, other fruit trees, bell trees, bushes and the grassy area is ringed with alternating blue and gold roses. Plus I've left tools and items out for others to use.

To be honest my town is such a mess it'd take forever, and palm trees with snow would look odd so not for now. Maybe in the future...
