I named my Major Silver which isn't my real name. My real name is Kristin and even though I love it, it didn't suit the game and so I decided upon Silver. I used to watch a TV show with a girl called Silver, cant remember what it was called, and it stuck as one name I always loved
I named my mayor as my nickname rather than my actual name so in a way.. yeah I guess she was named after me.
In my second town tough I simply called her cupcake cause I thought it'd be cute.
I named my mayor K?vin 'cause it's my real name, but I could have named it Roxas, 'cause it's one of my favourite videogames' character (he's from Kingdom Hearts) and I find his name very cool. I finally chose to use my real name, maybe because (like savanna here) I think of my mayor as a representation of myself.
I named mine after myself, because I knew it would really make me feel a part of my town ^_^ In my (pretty much abandoned) side-town, I named the Mayor 'Marsha' as it is a pond-theme town and I wanted her name to sort of be watery-themed as well.
Sort of. I named her after my online nickname, which I use for every video game that lets you name the player. I tried using my real name once and it felt weird, haha.
I always use my real name. For my past towns I used my full first name, but now I just use a shortened version; Lina (Lee-na). I'd feel weird not using my name because I make the character kinda resemble me and my house is designed with my personal likes in mind.
For my mule character I use my middle name; Chrystal. I'd feel weird using some other name. I feel weird enough using my middle name. It just doesn't feel like mine unless I'm using my rill life names in game.
Sort of. I have this thing where I always name one character after myself by using either a name that starts with the same letter of my first name M or using a name that has significant value to me. The using a name that starts with the same letter of my name is actually a Jewish baby-naming tradition that used to honor love ones, I think, and I've just always thought it was cool. So that's one big reason why I chose reason the name Magica. The other reasons are because it sounds magical, which was a must, and because I LOVE Madoka Magica, but felt like too many people were using the name Madoka.
