No, I like the ability of getting to name it nearly whatever you want because it's like "If I had to name myself any name what would it be?"
So it gives you freedom basically (Some freedom).
I did it because it helped me really get into the game more. I really felt like it was me walking around town and being Mayor. Although being Mayor has never been a dream of mine, lol. SO I actually thought of her as more of a princess in town...whatever, in my mind it's a lot more fun pretending it's me. XD
no. in past ac games i had different names, so i thought i'd use my real one in my first nl town but it just felt weird after some time. ended up resetting and naming him something else. right now his name isn't really a name (it's ghost), but i like it that way.
I named mine after myself because it's only my first name, so it isn't dangerous, and most other names I'll regret in a few months All the villagers call my mayor "Rarr" though. Just a nickname i thought up.
On my last town I named her after my username since I got my game after my sister, and I'd already used Jessica on hers. Now that we've both restarted it's reversed, with Faye in my sister's town and my real name in my town.
my mayor's name is nana. so you can say so I guess since my real name starts with na. I honestly didn't know what to name my mayor and it was the first thing that popped in mind.
In my first town, my Mayor is named after me. Otherwise the other two is called Kitsune and Yoru.
And in my second town, I wanted to make a horror town so the first character is called Hell
