I'm curious, do you name your animal crossing character after you, or do you name it after a video game character or just some random name you liked?

I named my character after a character from an anime because I thought it sounded cool lol

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, do you change your character to look like you/that character that it is named after?

My first mayor has my own name (Ariane). The other characters in my 1st town are named Emma (because that's my favorite name) and Willow (in ref to Buffy the Vampire Slayer, though she doesn't look like her).
In my 2nd town the mayor is named Edith, after the movie Crimson Peak, eventually I will make her look like movie Edith. My town will be a haunted town and I was very inspired by the movie. In that same town the second character is named Illithyia (after the tv show Spartacus), because it's such a pretty name.
I don't know what I'll name the other characters yet.

My mayor in my town of zebilage has my real name
The other houses I have they have the names of my zebras
while in my other towns
They match with the theme I have going

I usually do, yes. But I don't try to make my mayor look like me I just do whatever looks good. If I do name anything after another character I would try to make them look like the actual character they're named after

I usually try to name game characters after myself, it makes it more personalized. Sadly with the character limit in some Japanese games like Animal Crossing and old Pokemon games, I've had to use nicknames, or other names entirely. I end up naming myself Alan or Alex instead of Alexander.

I name my character after myself but not the looks. I usually change my characters looks every couple weeks.

i prefer having the character named after me because it makes me feel like i'm actually being talked to by my villagers. not my appearance though. i have pink hair in the game but not in real life (sadly)

No, but my mayor's name is similar to my name. And his appearance is similar too; but he's not exactly identical to me. All of my side characters don't look anything like me at all though, and instead are based off my OCs.

Nope. She neither looks like me or has the same name. I have to be myself all the time so I wanted to be somebody else in AC instead. :3

Well, no. My character isn't even the same gender as me. However, some of my friends do actually call me Skye because I hate my real name and I use the name Skye for everything. So yes and no?

yeah my name irl is fleshy

(No, I don't, I used to make my mayor look like me, when I had white hair etc, but my mayor's look has kind of evolved and now looks nothing like me)

i do call him me though, i don't know if others do? but i'll say "me" when referring to my mayor pretty much always

I like to have my character have the same name for the same reason as Charcolor. It makes the conversations feel a little more personal. Ever since the GC version I've felt like my villagers were my friends, so I like to keep in the habit of having the same name. Even though she's dressed differently it's following my style to where it still feels like an extension of me within the game.

It mattered more after I started trading online. It just felt more natural to have people call me by my own name. Before that, however, I would use any kind of random name.

yes, i have always named my characters in animal crossing after myself (Lolita) i think it just feels more personal in the game, like wow! that character said my name! however she has her own unique look, as there is so much selection in acnl of what clothes to wear, and hair :)

I always have/always do~ for some reason it just feels strange to name her a different name!

I'm not sure what to pick, lol, because I do both.
In the most recent town I made my mayor is Ashley, which is my name.
In my main town, it's Yelh'sa which is obviously Ashley backwards, because I'm not creative lol (It's a fairytale town based on Elves so i thought that looked more elfy)
But my third mayor is named Wisp, and before these towns I had a mayor (the one that's my avatar) named Elora.

I give my characters names in accordance with my town theme. I also change their appearance depending on the theme.

if I had a cute name like yours I'd use it in games also!

∠( ᐛ 」∠)_ nawwww i dont feel like my RL name suits me and i dont even like it so if i have a chance to name myself something in a game its usually something immature and silly
