Do you plan it out, do you just put your furniture out randomly, or do you do something in-between?

I'm wondering since I'm thinking about designing my house to factor it in. I'm having a bit of a hard time coming up with anything, though... ^^;

Nope, I don't make use of feng shui. This is mainly because I decided to fill the majority of my mansion's rooms with red furniture, haha. So feng shui isn't exactly possible, without color variety xD;;

There's also the fact that feng shui seems pretty difficult to implement. It looks like it'd be hard to find furniture that looks good with each other in the colors that is needed for feng shui. At least it pays off in the end, though.

nah. I like to design my rooms freely and feng shui seems like a pain. i don't really know if it helps that much either so eughg :<

I've used feng shui since the beginning of New Leaf to maximize my chances of getting furniture and to decrease prices from villagers. Though my rooms don't look like they have a design because of the way feng shui works. Definitely use the house plants though as most are green and green is good. Not all are green but that's a good thing since they can then be applied to the rest of the room and make the room a little more natural. I think with the bonsai's you can definitely make a really feng shui type room. The red-tassled lantern goes well with that.

I enjoy the freedom you're given with house customization too much to have fēng shuǐ in it.

No. Like the others have said, I like to decorate how I want. I don't want to worry about putting certain colors in certain areas.

I might try to make something work soon, just because I could use the extra money. But otherwise, as people have stated, it's better to decorate as you wish to.

Thanks for posting this thread, I haven't really done anything with my house yet (and am not sure yet how I want to upgrade it either) and since I'm not that person that needs a perfect town with perfect houses you now gave me inspiration to go and feng shui my main room. It only seems to affect that room, so I'll try to make something nice of it and use it to easily get to my closet as well (an idea I've seen used by someone else). I think feng shui is really something I should try and I'm curious to see how it'll effect my daily life in Animal Crossing. :)

I'll do a little bit of feng shui if the room I'm designing at the moment has a bunch of furniture that will work for it. Basically, I only do it if I'm already really close to having a house that could do with some feng shui. But only a little bit.

I did, but it was an accident. I just put my furniture out randomly lol

And Lyle told me that red was on whatever side it's supposed to be at, and then he told me I was lucky and I was like Whatt?

Quick question: can you choose to do only one room in the house Feng-Shui? Or is it 'all or nothing'?

I think it actually counts for all rooms, but if you want to focus on your main room, that would probably be cool as well.

As far as I know, it counts for all rooms, but you don't have to. I plan on spreading it a bit, since I can't come up with even one room that would work with all the colors.

I looked on a wiki as I was wondering how it worked as well, and it said that it only counts for your main room. I was planning to spread it between three rooms as well, but then I saw that and honestly I don't really mind. It's only easier though; your house doesn't have to be full feng shui.
So to answer the question, it only counts for your main room (the room you first enter when you come in your house). :)

When I have a set planned out for a room, I always look into which items correspond to which color and then plan on putting that item where it should be placed for feng shui. I'm not super religious about it, but it's nice.

I've had my house set out the way I like it for a long time, but after reading this thread I might put myself up the challenge of designing a nice looking fengshui room. It'll certainly give me something to do!
