Do you look older or younger than your actual age?

This is something I've been wondering about lately, and I thought I'd post a thread on here to see what other people say!

I'm 17, only a few months away from 18, and yet people who I don't really know always seem so surprised to hear how I'm planning to go to university in September. They're always like "what, you still look so young!". I don't think I look much younger than my age, perhaps 16/17 years old, but I don't think I look like an 18 year old. I don't really wear much make-up - just mascara and that's it - and I'm a bit short, so that probably doesn't help. I think if I was taller and wore more make-up I'd look older.

But I've also had other people say to me I look older than my actual age, like a few years older (around 19 or so)... I guess it's just down to how other people perceive me.

So, what about you guys?

In my own eyes I think I look a lot younger than my age, but people seem to be accurate enough when they're trying to guess. Might just be me being weird, I dunno. I tend to see myself a lot differently than other people think anyway, so there's that.

I feel like I look my age these days, but I haven't got a second opinion in awhile. I remember being surprised the first time some teenagers tried to get me to buy them cigarettes while I was waiting for the bus, before that I thought I looked younger! o(-`д?- ｡) lol

I think I look older but I think I'm just thinking that since I get cat called a lot on the streets.
And you're 17? I thought you were like 21, mostly from how mature you type than you appearance and congratulations! I haven't gotten accepted yet in any college yet since we're doing finals now before we apply. But I did got offered some scholarships.

I'm 22 and get ID'd daily for buying cigarettes - I've been told way too many times that my ID looks fake because there's no way I'm really that age -.-' Apparently I look 14-17 tops - When really I'm 22 with an almost 3 year old daughter! People think I'm her babysitter rather than her mother when we go to the park! I hate it so much! >.< I'm sure if I were a girl who enjoyed wearing makeup that may be different - But I don't have the time or energy for makeup... Or skill for that matter >.<

same. once I was walking by a high school and someone tried to usher me into the building because class was starting. I was like noooo I'm a working woman!!! but yeah, now I probably look jaded and aged, most of the time they guess my age correctly.

hahaha okay so I'll keep eating the way I've been eating! my mom looks a lot younger than her age, we get mistaken for sisters a lot so hopefully I age as gracefully as she does too!
