do you like the hourly music in new horizons?

i really like it but i've heard tons of people say they dislike it! i often hear people say that the songs are unoriginal and are just remixes of the theme song, but i feel like every animal crossing game tends to do that for the hourly songs.
i've also heard people saying that the new leaf songs were better, when i remember people complaining about them a lot when new leaf was the most recent game haha

personally, i think that the new leaf songs were a little bland but still good. i prefer the NH hourly tracks and i like the use of electronic instruments because it gives me GC vibes, if that makes any sense i still haven't been able to hear 4am & 5am because i can't stay up long enough lol

i love the music so much. the 4am and 5am songs are beautiful. i’m a grandpa and in bed by 10pm so i tend to hear the same tracks, and i love the late night/early morning tracks the most. i wish 4am was the 7am track so i could hear it more often lol

Yes, it's fine. I wish there were more songs that are as iconic as some of the ones in New Leaf, but that doesn't make the background music bad... it's just not very recognizable in my eyes.

some of them i adore, and some of them i find grating! my issue is that my favourite ones are during hours i never play (2am and 5am), whereas the ones i dislike are during hours i almost always play (2pm and 5pm). i really look forward to the 6pm music, but since it’s sandwiched between a track i don’t like and the hour tarantulas become active, i rarely hear it, too ;w; that said, i highly prefer 7pm and 8pm from nl over any hourly track in this game~

I love the early and late sounds, but to be honest, I really miss the acoustic music prior to getting the improved residential services. The sound was so calm and serene. The new tunes are still nice, and I don't mind the repetitiveness at all, but some are better than others.

I find Animal Crossing hourly music in general to be just "fine". It doesn't matter which game it is.

i don't like it. i find it really boring compared to past games i've played. new leaf was emotional, wild world was playful, but new horizons is just... bland and spiritless. at least imo

There's maybe 4 hourly songs I like and 2 of them are at hours I rarely play at lmao. It's not like awful, but it's not my favorite at all when you compare it to previous titles. It's all more fast paced and just seems like they layered the same effects for each hour so nothing stands out to me imo (except 3am).

i think like or dislike is a personal choice - personally the style isn't what i would prefer. as @Crash mentions, the music in new leaf hit the junction of soothing and background really well. it's less in your face and up-tempo, bc i prefer that, i'm obviously going to favor that.

i do definitely feel the soundscape of new horizons is veryyyy well constructed, in the details of interacting w object, ambient noise from bugs and such.

what i severely question is the sound equalization? the ROARING OF WATERFALLS never ceases to make my ears hurt and really disrupts the flow of the game, imo. and the volume of the hourly music itself is also VERY LOUD. coupled with the up tempo attitude of it, it's nearly impossible to let fade peacefully into the background for me. i inevitably end up turning my sound off when i wander around during the day, because i just can't take it lol. i should not have to place 6 speakers around a plaza just to be able to hear the kk track? it really harshes my vibe and i sincerely wish there was a way to lower the hourly music to enjoy the rest of the lovely sounds.

tldr; i have baby ears and everything is too loud, pls mr. tendo, give me a sound equalization settings screen

It’s okay. New Leaf had a couple songs I really liked. In NH they are all just okay.

I wish we had the option to play without music though. Sometimes I like to have the sound on, to listed for shooting stars for example, but am tired of hearing the music on loop.

I love it! it definitely feels different from the other games’ music for the most part but I think it really suits the game and it’s setting!

New Leaf's songs were a mess. I love the thematic undertones of this soundtrack and they flow well together with subtle differences. Organic playing also sounds great. Seeing the musicians play the music live really made me appreciate it more.

I like it well enough. 6PM is my favorite because it seems to call back to the WW/CF music, which was my favorite. Some of the other ones I really like are ones that I never hear, like 5AM and I think I liked 2AM as well. Trouble is, I'm never awake at those times lol. Conversely, 2PM and 5PM are not my taste at all, and I feel like I hear them all the time.

it’s not bad... but not as nostalgic. the only time that i can recognize is two pm, but there were such memorable tunes in new leaf. i have memories associated with five and seven pm that NH just doesn’t hit. maybe in the future though.

nothing's ever gonna top city folk but I'm a fan, my nostalgia can't bear to admit it but I do prefer it over new leaf (and population growing)

pretty solid! some of them are really beautiful. my biggest problem is that they're not very memorable, like others have said. I think the title theme is really gonna hit me in the nostalgias a few years down the line but I doubt any of the hourly themes will sadly

oh and also the midday tunes are a bit of a disaster, but that's true for most animal crossing games in my eyes. the worst songs usually seem to happen in the middle of the day (i hate new leaf's 1pm lol)
