Barold is overrated. But Cal, he's ugly!! Yes, he is ugly, and people like him because he is ugly, and they like him too much. He's yucky and looks like a neckbeard living in a mildewy basement.

Even though I'm not exactly a fan of his design, I think I'd get used to him if he was living in my town. I don't think he's overly ugly though, just not a favorite of mine.

He certainly has a unique look, and I appreciate that since I tend to favor the more unique designs, but I'm not completely fond of him. Most of his design works for me but I don't like the eyes.

I must admit, I'm not a fan. He kind of creeps me out. However, I'd give him a chance if he moved into my town. Sometimes I start to like "ugly" villagers. I like beards on people irl, but on a baby cub it's kind of disconcerting. He's kinda funny tho.

His character design reminds me of old-timey racist "minstrel" style design. It was the first thing that came to mind when I saw him, and I can't shake it. Not being able to get rid of him was one of the reasons I reset my first town (that and he moved directly onto my favourite path. And I seriously spent MONTHS trying to get him to move out.)
