because if I like x personality over y personality I'm more willing to have more villagers in with it

ex: I like peppies more than uchis and snooties, my town right now is 2 peppies, and 1 each uchi and snooty... all that I'm planning to keep now

First I choose personality and go for appearance~ I want all type of personality in my town and doesn't like repetitive species so I go for appearance!! xD

Both, definitely! However their interior is also judged A LOT. Like for Barold specifically, I found him adorable, but I find most lazies adorable, what really made me keep him was irony of his home being an uptight office, but him being lazy. But with Smug villagers...I don't like them and I think most of them are ugly so it was Shep or Julian, but Shep's home fit my town better.(So did his overall look)

For me it's the looks. Since I already know pretty much how they're going to act according to their personality type, I already know what to expect, no surprises. For example, I HATE the Uchi personality, but if Cherry the epic gothic dog moved into my town I would grow to like her real fast.

i used to hate phoebe, but she's grown on me. i don't like the snooty villagers. cranky villagers are mean at first but get nicer throughout the game, and lazy, smug, and normal are my favorite.
