For the entire time I had Cascades (almost 2 years), I've never let it go into late fall/ winter, because I just felt winter would be boring.
But I've been thinking about everytime I've had winter in my other towns (cycling towns) the towns were pretty barren and I don't talk to the villagers so there really was nothing to do in town and nothing to see since I never built up my cycling towns. (now I'm trying to build it up, but I'll probably reset again for the 83rd time, give or take.)
Anyway, I know some players keep their towns in red-leaf fall or cherry blossom season, stormy summer or whatever season's goes with their town, so I'm not the only one playing with localized temporal displacement.
I guess a more specific question would be:
Do you skip winter? Or do you play as the year goes by?.

I don't time travel, so I play through each season as it comes. I look forward to the changing seasons because I think it breaks up the monotony.

I will admit that after the first month or so, I do get bored of winter. I'm not really a cold weather or winter person in real life and that translates to the game. Once the novelty wears off, I start longing for the grass to come back and everything to look pretty and vibrant again. But I think the wait is part of what makes the spring so nice.

Honestly, if I were stuck in any one season permanently, I think I'd get bored of it eventually.

First, I'd like to commend you for keeping your town in set seasons. (,: That takes dedication.

Anyway, my answer is pretty standard: I play in real time (occasional TT but not by more than 3 days back or forward) and do let my town and its residents experience all seasons. I live in a tropical climate where there aren't the usual 4 seasons (we get dry season + rainy season. Exciting I know!). No snow. Never will be snow here. :s Therefore, I truly think that plays a role in why I don't have the nerve to "lock" my town into any season.

In the years I've been playing AC, I do wish I could skip fall/winter at times though since I like seeing my town tree nice n full. Seeing those bare branches doesn't brighten up my day when I boot up my game and walk over to my plaza.

I personally do not time travel as well like Destani and rianne, I like going through the seasons and I have found it is fun to find ways to make your town look good with your landscaping regardless of the season! :D I definitely think winter is my least favorite season too, but who knows, maybe this time around I may actually enjoy it. lol

> Do you skip winter?
Nope. I even have a town where I stopped the town clock on a snowy day in the winter.
We Japanese have a cultural concept where we find the beauty in tranquil, secluded place and state. Like white white white lonely art of Utrillo.
I feel like "no change -> boring" is rather very American. ( No offence )

I tend to skip winter only. I really don?t like the whole ?white look? and I feel like my villagers really stand out and don?t match with the look. I tend to time travel a lot though right now since I?m remodeling my town. I think when I actually get my town settled, I might stop time traveling and maybe let winter finally appear in my town.

I could never skip a whole season haha, I'd be so bored.
I play as the year goes by time traveling to where I last left off.

I don't skip seasons because I want to experience everything the game has to offer. Skipping an entire season would mean missing a lot of content. Also it's kind of nice having your town's environment change along with yours. As long as you live in the Northern Hemisphere.

That being said, I have thought about having a tropical town before. If I ever do that, I would definitely keep it in summer because it would make no sense for such a town to even have seasons.

I have towns in every season and in every month as well. Staying in one will, for me, become incredibly boring. Some towns don't allow TTing but most do so there's always somewhere to "go" for whatever may be of interest. IRL, Summer feels best but, in NL, my Mayor, or other character, can be barefoot and in a T-shirt in the dead of winter. "I" don't feel bee stings, Jellyfish encounters or Pitfall embarrassments..Sorry drifting...

Do I skip winter?

Moriyo- no, but it's also goin to be forever stuck in fall once it's done
Treehut- no, but it will be forever stuck in one year once it's done.
Secret- if I feel like it

Winter is so boring to me, I like the snowing music and makin snow people, but it's so hard to landscape, and there's not alot to do I feel. Limited fish and bugs also.

I rotate all of the reasons because I love to see all of the different bugs, fish, and experience all of the different atmospheres and holidays, but generally I travel through my least favorite season (fall) more quickly, TTing forward maybe two days for each one day IRL. On the other side, I spend as much time as possible in Spring, spending each full day in real time, or sometimes even TTing backwards. In winter and summer, which I like but don't love, I generally go in real time as well, but generally don't go backwards. I would spend more time there, but the snow makes my landscaping/grass tiles look a bit weird, and there aren't enough bugs or fish to hold my interest with a wide variety. As for summer, I like it but the cicadas chirping drives me bonkers! I'm always a little relieved when fall comes just so I can turn my volume back on full-time.

Hmmm...I can't hear Cicadas at all and have to wear headphones to catch Mole Crickets and, even then, it's mostly guess work. So many years around loud noises takes a toll. (Whippersnappers take note please)

I'm actually the same way with mole crickets, but I think the issue is more that I can't hear the direction than a lack of overall volume. I'll dig 10 or so holes, and if I don't get it by then, I just quit because guesswork takes so ridiculously long! Thus why my bug catalogue is taking so long to complete. Whoops!

I also definitely lost a ton of hearing from too much loud music as a teenager, but I play with my 3DS really close to my face (so as not to put strain on my neck by bending it for long periods of time), so that helps a lot with things being audible!

No skips at all here. I know what's there for me in every season, but still. Also, I have to change my clothes (I didn't wear that pompom hat for a long time ).

No, I like to see all the seasons. Seeing the leaves and grass changing is so satisfying to me. The only thing that sucks is that the seasons are always opposite to what they are irl since I'm from the Southern Hemisphere. But even then I still don't change the seasons to match irl. Magix suits all seasons apart from Fall, so I'm quite happy not changing seasons overall.

Also I love winter! I guess it suits my colour theme in Magix well. Winter is when I first started playing, so it always gives my nostalgia.

I time travel a lot in each of my three towns, but usually just a day or two and then I time travel back to where I was.

HOWEVER... this year I had several real life family members who died unexpectedly, which left me feeling very fragile, and Hallowe'en was just too much for me. To me, that holiday is sort of centered on death and mean things (Jack scaring me and stealing my clothes? I don't need that right now.) Anyway, it was creeping me out and I just wasn't enjoying it. So, I skipped a couple of weeks ahead in ACNL, problem solved.

Then, about a week ago, I was feeling so cold and miserable in real life, that I just felt like the weather in ACNL was too much. So, I time traveled in one of my towns to July of next year, and it is still July there. I have to admit that it is nice to be able to do that.

I never skip winter, as winter is one of my favorite seasons (in the game and also in real life).
Heck, I even had a town back then which I let stick in the winter season for a long time, not
only because I loved it when my town was covered by snow, but also because I wanted all
the items from the Snowman and Ice series.

Otherwise, I like it when the seaons change. Since I do time travel, I like to jump from one
season to another, as it's more fun to me playing the game that way.
