Do you try to keep your town at 9 villagers in case a dreamie or valuable villager shows up in your campsite?

I can't really ever see myself playing for a long time with a full town. That is, at least until I have all the villagers I want and more bells than I know what to do with (which I can't see happening for a while).

This is a bit of a shame since I find the game to be a lot more fun with more villagers walking around and interacting with each other. I suppose it all comes down to how you prefer to play the game.

But for me, the opportunity cost of not being able to move a camper in keeps me at 9 villagers.

Of course, the way around this is to start a second "cycling" town but I'm still not sure if I'm ready to go that "deep" into New Leaf yet. However I do realize that this is coming from a guy who has probably played more ACNL than any other game in his life (I think only the Civilization series has a chance of competing):p.

Thoughts and opinions much appreciated!

I can't be the only one who dreads ducking into that igloo with a full town only to find Rosie or Julian walking around that pot of stew!:D

Yeah, I couldn't bare it if my town was full and one of the villagers I really wanted was camping. I remember when I had 10 villagers I never looked in the campsite.

I will have 10 villagers when I am fully satisfied with them all and know that there's no others that I would prefer over mine.

I like to keep it at 9, but not for campers (I haven't even built the campsite and have no plans to). I like the random move-ins that you get at eight villagers because it's guaranteed to be a personality you don't have - meaning that if my snooty moves out I'll get a new snooty without having to lurk for giveaways on the Villager Trading board.

Negative side of staying at 9 is of course that I'm open to wifi and streetpass void move-ins. I personally don't mind that because I've liked pretty much every villager so far (except Shari, she can die in a fire), but I see how it infuriates the people who collect "dreamies".

I like to keep it at 10 at all times. I'm one of those people who *has* to control everyone who moves in and out of the village :c I never allow random move-ins at all, and even my starting villagers were somewhat planned for by doing the reset trick.

That said, sometimes I keep it at 9 or 8, but only when I'm specifically looking for a villager and am using a campsite as a last resort of sorts.

I totally forgot about void move-ins! I'm currently living in a place where streetpass is extremely thin on the ground so I generally don't even have the wifi switch on. But I'll have to remember to get a 10th villager before I do any really active mingling.

Now I remember my previous town (before I restarted) where I streetpassed someone and Ava moved in right in front of my central bridge. Took me ages to get her out!

Hmmmmm this is more complicated that I thought!

If I really want someone "new" as dreamie yes, otherwise I try to stay at 10 so I don't get random moveins.

If you are absolutely afraid of streetpass moveins (I know I am D: ) then the easiest way to prevent it is to just flick your Wifi switch off and not go online until you get your 10th villager. It's a major drawback if you're into trading and if you're a turnip investor, but I find that certainty is much better than the unpleasant surprise of having a villager you'll dislike!

I generally like alot of the ones in my campsite but due to living in a area with high street pass alot of voids move in ((generally the hideous ones)) and with my town being a perfect one It takes forever to get them out. So I prefer 10 and will search after a little bit of having nine for a new cute member to fill that slot. Plus im currently trying to cycle out 14 villagers so I can regain my ultimate dreamie, lil ol' Frita <3

I try to keep my town at 9 for either campsite villagers or just in case one of my dream villagers appear on a trading board. Unfortunately, I can never keep it at 9 for more than a day, thanks to random streetpass or Wifi move-ins.

My main town...no. Last time I went down to nine I had a random wifi move in. But after I move in Kabuki/Wendy from my second town I'm good on villagers for myself so.
My cycling town I always stay at nine because of the campsite. That and I've had other cyclers/friends
ask me to hold a villagers for them till they had space.

Yes. If I get to 10 villagers, I'll time travel until one I don't like moves out to make room. I'm planning on, even with dreamies, only having 9 villagers in case a valuable villager or one of my friends' dreamies shows up at the camp.

No. I always keep my town full. I like all my villagers and I don't really care if there's someone "valuable" at the campsite. I've had all the villagers I've wanted pretty early on and occasionally I'll change someone.

Not anymore. I used to before I started turning on streetpass. Now whenever I have streetpass on it's almost guaranteed that I'm going to get a random streetpass move in before a camper. I try and keep my town at 10 at all times now, even though I've had good luck with streetpass (got Benjamin and Fang through it <3)

I hate having ten villagers. I like getting down to 8, so I can wait for a random move in. Usually when I get ten, one moves out shortly though.

I have mine at 10 since I have all of my dreamies and I'm not looking for anyone in the campsite currently.

I have all 10 villagers in both towns, all dreamies. Before I used to keep just 9, until awful villagers kept moving in via Streetpass. After that I decided that it'd be best to try and get my 10th dreamy. I bought a third copy of the game just to make sure that I could control who would be moving in. Now that I have all 10 dreamies I gave my 3rd copy away to a friend. Well... technically he is borrowing it, using it to reset for villagers. Don't know when I'll get it back, don't care. He buys me lunch all the time so by now he has probably spent more on me than I did on that game.

I can't stand random move-ins, so I want to get my permanent 10 as soon as possible. right now, 8/10 are staying, so I still need to find two more.

Plus, with 10 permanent villagers, I will know exactly where every house is and I can finish decorating my town.
