Keeping Re-Tail stocked is a must for my cycling town, as I want to keep villagers' homes pristine. As for my main town, the only reason I stocked up Re-Tail there was because I did not want Marshal getting rid of his neat sloppy set set-up. Ironic, since quite a few members are eager to snatch up his sloppy set pieces, whereas I was trying to keep the sloppy pieces in his home. Since he moved, though, I do not care as much anymore. I have one space open at the moment to make sure that a sloppy set piece can make it into Re-Tail, though I do not much care for collecting the set.
I kept it empty for about three months, but got fed up with the way nearly all the spaces were constantly empty so now I stuff random stuff I find in trees and bought to fill my catalogue with in there. I don't care what my villagers keep in their house. I swear, half the time they give what they buy back to me with pings or trades anyway.
I used to not care whatever is in my retail but I've tried keeping it empty recently in the hopes that someone will put up a sloppy item for sale. *fingers crossed*. The superb coffee beans idea is great though! Kinda funny to imagine villagers buying them.
I keep my Retail full to the brim with my own items so that villagers don't try to mess up their houses.
It's kind of a shame to miss out on the chance of Sloppy/Cardboard furniture, but I can always buy them online.
I'd rather do that than have villagers selling all the items I spent so long placing in their houses.
