do you keep your pets indoors?

I've never heard of people who keep their dogs outside only :O No offense to people who do since they probably live in a different area than I do lol, we can have bad thunderstorms in the summer and cold winters where dogs would have to be inside for that. Otherwise we let one of my dogs hang out outside whenever he wants to be outside (He's an Australian Cattle dog and Samoyed mix so he likes the weather cold or mild, and he doesn't like being outside during the summer as much). The other one isn't as obedient to leave outside without supervision so she's an inside dog, except for going potty and if we're outside then we let her stay outside as well. She's a big cuddle bug so she prefers to be inside or wherever the people for that reason too lol. We used to have a cat as well that was an outdoors cat, although it varies with that in my area. A lot of people either have outdoor cats, or strictly indoor cats, or ones that are allowed to be both in and out.

My dog lives indoors (unless she wants to go out in the garden or for walks of course). My Aunt and Uncle leave their dogs outside the majority of the time, and it feels like they are really neglected socially because of it. :/

My dogs can go in and out whenever they want but they mostly stay inside.

I let my dog out every now and then, and our outside animals obviously live outside, but our cats live inside.

My cats do whatever they want, but surprisingly even though they spend most of their time outside, when they come inside they sleep with us at night! It's so adorable c:

My dogs live inside and only go outside if they need to relieve themselves. We can't put them outside without watching them because they jump the fence and run down the street...

my dogs usually live inside but aince im staying with my grandma they stay in a little carrier outside. i go out every few hours so they can pee and stuff. i wouldn let them stay outside without being watched because dogs are dumb (i love them tho<3)

every cat ive ever had has been mainly outdoors and allowed to roam free. they lived under the house when i stayed in one that was elevated. some of them ended up finding new homes but oh well

All of my pets are "inside" pets but they are all allowed outside. I have three dogs and two birds. Two of the dogs, a chinese crested and a poodle, don't shed but the third is a big hairy Borzoi that gets hair everywhere. I vacuum pretty much daily because I love having pets inside but I don't want my house to have a doggy look or smell to it. But I guess that's just part of being a pet owner.

We have several outdoor dogs in our neighborhood and I always feel badly for them. I always wonder if they have proper heart worm prevention being outside all day and if they are ever walked or played with. I like to train with my dogs daily to keep them sharp and the wolfhound and I are working toward his therapy dog and canine good citizenship certification so I keep him by my side nearly all day because he's always learning.

I keep my dog inside mostly but when he has to go pee or whatever I take him outside.

My cat used to be outdoor. We lived where there was a field behind our house. He loved it and would go catch mice and play in there. But if anyone sat in the backyard he would come out of the field and sit with them. He never stood out too long, and his preferred method of getting inside was my mom's or my window.

When we moved to the apartment we kept my cat indoors. He jumped of the balcony once when we first moved in. Thankfully he was fine, and would sit on the balcony after without jumping off. He waited on it to see we were home before we got to the door, except in the winter.

Now we're at a condo and he's still indoor. My cat does try and escape still. He never gets very far. He's also terrified of cars so if one comes by while he's even just on the balcony he comes running back.

I keep my cat inside since she's declawed and I don't want her outside with rats and whatnot. She's pretty terrified of being brought outdoors, anyway.

my 2 cats go indoors and outdoors, one of them likes being inside the most though. the other just chills in our backyard and likes coming in for a while then going back out. we really need one of those small doors cause he just goes in & out too much lol. it's quiet here and not many cars plus they only stay in our yard pretty much, and at night when there's no cars sometimes i'll walk my dog and they'll follow, it's cute.
and my dog of course has to go outside but he's a lazy bum lately and i don't think he likes heat, so he just likes being inside lately.

Callie has been an outdoor kitty since we got her. My house is just too much of a trainwreck to keep a cat inside. We have a LOT of property, which is filled with lots of trees and woodsy areas, so it's not really as bad as having an outdoor cat in a suburban neighborhood. It's a cat paradise, haha. So many bugs and creatures and trees to climb. Every morning we let her out of the garage (where her food and water is kept, as well as her litterbox) and she can play outside all she wants until nightfall, when we go to the front porch and get her and bring her inside. She's always waiting for us on the porch at night. Often, we take her inside and let her sit with us in the living room for a few hours. She gets spoiled the whole time, and usually claims a whole couch cushion to herself. Then, when we're ready to go to bed, she goes back into the garage for the night. :)

i'm jealous. even if my dogs were trained, which they are in a way since we taught them to only go in one part of the backyard, my mom still would freak out. cats would probably go inside because cats

Mine are inside 90% of the time, excluding the dogs who love being outdoors with my brothers while they do parkour or something.

We have two cats who want to be outside, a 2 year old tabby, and a 12 year old orange and white cat who want to be outdoors, but not because they like it, because they want to escape. They have gotten out twice, but came back both times. My dad built a little house for them to be in, and they love it. However, the annoying strays bully them while they are in it. Elijah, the 12 year old, has a sister, Ella, who loves being outside, and we let her out in our yard, but she just wants to lay on the deck and under the chairs. She would never escape. Oliver, the tabby, has a sister, Electra, who now wants to get out, only because Oliver showed her that he can get out. Hopefully, she would never leave us. We also have 3 other cats ;; Ezra, Snow White, and Belle, who would never even go NEAR the back door. Ezra is WAYYYYYYYYYYYY too lazy, and Snow and Belle are 10 year old white cats who both have health issues and dont even like going downstairs. The fully inside cats are terrified of the outdoors as well, so they wouldnt wnt to go outside anyway.

I have two cats, ones an indoor and ones outdoor, we let the outdoor one come inside in the arvo then goes out again the next morning C: we do occasionally let the indoor cat go outside to have some fun too.

I have 2 HUGE mastiffs. But I do keep them inside, even though my biggest mastiff can lay his head on my kitchen counter and his tail breaks glass on the table when he walks by. In my opinion, it's kinda cruel to leave pets outside. :/ If you wouldn't leave your children outside, then you shouldn't with your dogs. Too dangerous.
