Right now Maple is my best friend in town. I've had a her a few months. We got to the point where she gave me her pic, has come over unannounced, and pings to move quite often. I am torn because I can't imagine my town without her, but another part of me wants to let her go so I can experience new villagers. I'm just not sure if I should do that though. Anyone else have a problem like this?

You are definitely not alone on this! I've kept Daisy and Tabby and even Kody (he grew on me) forever because I love them so much (sounds weird, but oh well) They'll stay even if you happened to say yes its ok to move. Like Naomi was like I cant leave my best friend! (me)

They all ping to move out; it means nothing. I'll keep certain villagers forever, but not all of them. I once kept the same 10 villagers for almost a year and it got boring. I want to meet new animals, so at least half of mine will be moved out at some point.

Of course! I'm thinking of letting some of my favourite villagers go (haha just went I started to landscape around their houses). I'd love to meet new villagers as they do have their own personalities even if it's hard to tell what with all the generic dialogue. There are a couple I don't want to ever let go, and I think you should hold onto Maple until you think you are really alright with letting her move out.

I intend to keep the dream villagers I acquire forever. For me, the prospect of having villagers I like leave to make room for others has lost most of its appeal. The reason they're dream villagers is because I find their designs to be a step above the rest. Considering they're all pretty much the same as anyone else with their personality, I go by the ones whose appearance I like best.

If Maple is your best friend in the town, why not have someone else move out instead?

Hmm maybe you're right *ties Maple up and holds her hostage*

Yeah! You don't have to move her out do you? Just let some of villager you don't like as much move out if you want to experience new villagers.

The first villager I ever let move out was Tia and I was pretty sad about it and should have kept her around for a little longer. But it's nice to see her shopping around! :D

for the most part, I keep my dream villagers permanently. in many of my towns I've left the tenth spot open in case I randomly decide I want a camper or someone new, but I also hate voids so I stopped doing that. i usually have at least two villagers I love more than the rest and will never let go -- you do form some kind of little bond with them and it's cute. like lolly in my main town; I worked soooo hard to get her when I first did two years ago, and although my current one isn't the same lolly, the point remains.

I would, but I know there'll be a period where I lose interest again and then they might move out. It would be disappointing, but luckily you could get them back.

I've attempted to keep some villagers forever, but when I accidentally tt, they accidentally go. And usually I find new favorites and get rid of old ones.

Every time I accidentally lose someone I've been lucky since it was animals I could live with leaving

Ok I got onto my town to just spend time talking to my villagers and I realized how happy I am with each of them. At least one of each personality and I love all of them. Just talking to Peanut and now Maple in her house makes me realize how much I'd hate living in this town without her...especially since I drew her face(poorly) on my town flag.

I definitely won't let dream villagers move, or at least I try to. Letting ones I like leave is for when I'm deciding who's going to be a dreamy and who won't be.

Yeah I get tempted to move some villagers out for new ones I never have but like. The fact is, though, I have a good balance of 10 villagers I genuinely like right now, especially Maple, Peanut, Aurora, Melba, and Annalise.
