Do you have to fulfill a villager's request the day it's asked?

One of my villagers asked me for a Pike, so I searched to see when they could be caught, but I misread the time as between 9PM - 4AM; it's actually 4AM - 9PM, and my game is now at midnight. DX

Do I have to complete a villager's request the day it's asked, or will they still be okay with it tomorrow?

unless they ask you so late in the day that they mention to you "...but it's okay if you wait until tomorrow to do it." then yes, I believe you will need to fufill it that day. the only other option you have is to visit someone else's town who's early enough in the day for you to fish one up.

They forget about it the next day or tell you not to bother. I missed a signature request once because I did it late and when I got back to my town, the villager who wanted it was asleep.

Yes. The next day, they forget about it or no longer care.

I don't think it's a big deal if you can't complete their request on the day they ask, though. I think they're happy just if you say yes and I'm not sure if your friendship really takes a hit when they request something that's difficult to find or that requires you to go to other towns... it would be weird if the game really punished you for that, but I'm not sure.

I've never tried time traveling backwards in order to fulfill a request that I ran out of time for. If you want to try this and share your results, that would be helpful!

I usually wouldn't be concerned, but I upset Bluebear by forgetting about a meeting. Don't want her angry/ disappointed again. |D

Have you gone past 6 AM? If so, it will affect their request (I think) because it counts as a day forward to travel back to the day before. What are the specifics of the situation?

For example, let's say it's midnight in your game and you want to go back to 9 PM to find a bug or fish Bluebear asked you for. You can do this as far as I know. However, when you go give her what she requested, you can't go forward to the next morning when she's awake, you should go back to an earlier hour.

GDI I caught a Koi before I caught a Pike, but I finally got a Pike and Bluebear accepted it! So TTing to fulfill requests works.
