Do you have morbid curiosity?

Hmmm...i have a thing for skulls if that counts. I just find them facinating and even beautiful, i guess. And i like looking at tombestones too. Dunno if both those things count as morbid.

I laugh when people/monsters die, whether it?s in real life or in a movie. Just think it?s funny.

EDIT: Now obviously, if it?s someone I know, I would rush in and try to save them, or I would be sad afterwards, but if it?s just some random Joe, it?s hilarious. LOL

Yes, sometimes morbid curiosity does get the best of me. But I've never been a member of any gore sites, and neither do I plan on joining any (for a variety of reasons).

WHAAAAA????

Hell yeah!!!! >:D

In the fictional category, I prefer horror media, ****ed up romances, and anything that is just ****ing morbid. It's interesting to see what the human mind can come up with and how far they can take their creativity.

Regarding non-fictional or in real life based media, it's usually based on how these things are presented to me because I still feel alittle weird about ****ed up irl ****. I do love me some crime documentaries tho.

For scientific subjects, yes. I’m quite interested in major natural disasters (even if I go into full panic mode when we get a tornado watch) and I’ll read up on dangerous plants and animals every once in a while. I’m not interested in morbid things revolving around humans or society, though.

Yes to the point of pushing things to their limits. I once got curious about vacuum molding plastics so I set up a vacuum molding system in my carpeted bedroom in an apartment. This involved creating a heated chamber which reached temperatures definitely high enough to reach the ignition temperature of carpets. Every single step of the process was paved with "this has bad idea written all over it,"but I proceeded anyway, only to never actually successfully vacuum mold anything.

Another time I was curious how sharp an axe could truly get so I just kept sharpening it. One day it fell over and sliced through a very thick electrical cable which tripped the breaker. It was so sharp it went through the carpet, into the floorboards and created a hole to the crawlspace. This was in the same apartment. I did not get my security deposit back.

Wait I don't think this is what morbid curiosity means exactly. I guess more on topic is I had a period of time where I got obsessed with the complexities of endocrine diseases.

I'm mildly curious. I prefer just hearing about peoples' stories though, rather than seeing explicit images. I think it's interesting to hear about stuff that's out of my ordinary day-to-day. Even if that stuff ends up being unsettling.

Sometimes I'll read about bizarre behaviors or elements of animals if I'm bored. Usually they aren't too gross unless I'm reading about banana slugs. Those creatures are something else...

I've been binge watching a lot of true crime videos on YouTube. It's strange because I'm so curious and interested in all of it because it's a thing that most people cannot relate to (murder and all that stuff) so it feels otherworldly to me, that these things can happen to just anyone really. But at the same time, a lot of the really terrible sad cases get me pretty depressed after a while. So I would say I have a morbid curiosity but real life cases, especially the ones with photographs of victims, really hurt my heart.

I think yes to an extent. I prefer researching and hearing about unpleasant/deadly things rather than seeing them though. I'm interested in horror, supernatural, and crime but not in surgical procedures, autopsies, gore, and physical violence. I'm especially curious about the history and psychology side of things. From time to time, I come across something or someone that leads me to search for more. Then, I jump from article to article and binge-watch documentaries and other media related to the same topic for a day or two.
Yeah... these things catch my attention every so often for awhile, but I read up on it for curiosity reasons rather than as a hobby or out of boredom. I get stressed and depressed after awhile though, so I watch lighthearted stuff afterwards.

Yes, definitely. I don't search out gory pictures and I don't like watching surgeries or anything like that, but I have a fascination with death, serial killers, the supernatural and things of that nature. I like to research unsolved deaths, read about the psychology of serial killers, visit graveyards and read tombstones, etc. I don't mind seeing photographs of dead people, but I usually don't search them out.

I don't idolize serial killers and I do have empathy so I'm sad when people die, but I still want to learn more. I think the reason I find death so interesting is because there are so many unanswered questions. People who experience death certainly aren't around to explain what it was like, unless you believe in near-death experiences, and there is so much debate about what happens to us after we die. So I think that's why it peaks my interest.

I would be in the "morbid interests" category, as I have done taxidermy in the past, worked as a vet assistant (I dealt with a lot of death while I was there, sadly), I collect animal skulls (humanely sourced or replicas only), have studied mortuary science with the thought of possibly becoming a mortuary technician (or whatever title you would give the embalmer/body prepper). Death doesn't bother me and never has in any way (mostly due to how I was raised in addition to my personal beliefs/faith). Death is a part of life, unfortunately, but I tend to find far too many things interesting or fascinating. Just because there are social stigmas that have been put around particular interests, doesn't mean there is anything wrong or unhealthy about them, imo. I also enjoy the YouTube channel called, Ask A Mortician as I think she does a wonderful job teaching people about everything she covers. The same gal has a really interesting TedTalk on death as well. /rambling

I sometimes am morbidly curious about like general causes of death, last words, etc. I also like watching documentaries about crime, disappearances, and other kinds of those stuff from time to time but I just like a good scare sometimes.

I am constantly reading articles about literally anything ranging from obscure political pieces to detailed reviews about books, films and games. Mostly I look to constantly re-evaluate my beliefs and thinking by learning about different academic stances on a broad range of issues so that I can broaden my thinking. I also research scientific data to back up article claims etc. I just like reading, investigating and challenging my thinking. Particularly when I hear someone talk from a pov I haven't come across before or people who have unique psychology etc.
