Do you have many friends?

I have a lot of people I know and get on with that will invite me to things like birthdays festivsls and other irregular events, but in terms of people I actually hang around with regularly and make time for...its 4 people, 5 if we count my girlfriend.

I'm fine with it though. I would rather have a small group of good friends than a huge amount of friends I ultimately dont know much about in comparison. Like, I could give paragraphs about those few people but anybody else I could at best say we both like 1 mutual thing.

No...not really. My only friend atm is my dog but that's good enough for me. He's the bestest friend you could ask for. I don't have any online friends either. I used to have a friend group in elementary and middle school but then I moved away. Since high school and above I've been alone. I just never learned how to make friends. I feel like no one likes me and I have low self esteem. I'm just so awkward and I can't make the words leave my mouth around everyone else. So I just be mute now and not even try to make friends. The people I'm around are kinda mean anyway and not understanding toward people who are different. At least there are people like me on here. It is also a wonderful feeling to have a pet who loves you so it's okay.

i mean ... in perspective, yes! i have many many friends. but if we're talking close friends? maybe 5 or 6. i used to have many but as high school went on, you realize you can't trust that many people haha.

I have one real life friend that is very dear to me and I'm scared of not having any contact to them after I'm finished with school..

Honestly one to zero. I decided to drop all my friends. It was always me keeping in contact with them. They never came to me it was always me. I got so tired I decided to just drop them. Anyway while in high school being with them most times I felt invisible or like I wasn't even there. I do have a friend I guess who works at a clinic minutes away from where I live who always looks happy to see me when I have appointments, always asking how I've been doing and just having a nice conversation which makes me feel great. But it did hit me hard when I overheard my dad speaking to someone on the phone that I go out by myself (shopping) and I guess they asked by herself what about friends and my dad just goes yeah by herself she doesn't have any friends. I thought ah how sad is my life.

Yes. Too many for me to handle, personally. I don't have the energy or time for everyone and often feel bad because of it.

I've been lucky to have a couple people who I can DM with after school ended, and they're people I really care about. Like most, I'd rather have a few meaningful friendships than a lot of empty ones.

In real-life I have three main friends and a few other friends too that I occasionally hang out with. About a year ago though I had hardly any friends and the ones I did have had loads of friends that they would normally hang out with. I have made loads of great friends on this forum though.

I get along well with people and always say yes to invitations, but I'd only consider my childhood friends genuine friends so it's only a small circle. I'm just pretty shy and introverted, so it takes a while for people to get to know the "real" me and that person can be very obnoxious and overly enthusiastic. I'm always friendly and helpful even if I'm not social, so it's hard to make new friends because you don't give the other person what they're looking for. So, I'm friendly with like 30 people from school but real friends with only 4 I'd say. It gets a little bit lonely as an adult, but I have a big family that accepts me and my anxiety so I just prefer spending time with them if that makes sense? Going out with friends feels like a performance sometimes.

I don't believe in the whole "blood is thicker than water" thing.

Fun fact: The sentence is actually "The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb.", so it has the exact opposite meaning. You'll always have a stronger bond with the people you fought for.
