I really liked Raymond when I first saw him, before I saw he was super popular. That didn't really keep me from liking him, though. I still wanted him on my island. But then my mom told me he resembled my ex and jesus christ I wish she never said that, because I can't look at Raymond the same. So between that, and the insane prices and how hard he is to obtain, I've slowly been letting him fall off my dreamie list. I'm afraid that once I get him, I'll find he wasn't worth the hype and I'll have gone through all that for nothing. Still like him tho

Monty........ He was my fav in NL, so I wanted him so bad for NH! But when I got him in my island... I just... Didn't vibe with him at all!? It was kind of disappointing, but at the same time I think it's okay to have different favourites in different games, since Animal Crossing is something you play constantly (and changing it up is okay!)

But Monty will always be my NL love!! Special monkey boy, just not for New Horizons hehe.

(Also I'm glad someone here mentioned Sherb, I see a lot of folks call him 'cute smol baby' and while they're allowed to see him that way... To me, the music in his house gives him creepy energy asldfkdsf... I still love him, but, eek!!!)

i got his amiibo specifically for this game but when i finally invited him he just seemed kinda off
and i've kicked him out and reinvited him so many times trying to force myself to like him again but i can't seem to
which is a shame because he is adorable ♡
now i only use his amiibo to help others get him aha

Yeah he is indeed adorable but just... meh... not me for some reason haha.

Omg, I felt the same way! Marshal was actually the reason why I joined and found TBT way back. I searched high and low for that adorable squirrel, shedding many tears in the process. After crying my eyes out 3 days straight over a virtual animal, he ended up as a random plot move-in, and I was soo happy! Lol, buuutttt even after all that, I just couldn’t relate/ vibe with him much Julian felt different to me for some reason. Ended up giving Marshal up for adoption a year or two later (can’t remember).

I always thought Sherb was supposed to be a ghost goat but maybe I’m wrong, lol. I just get serious “Luigi’s Mansion” vibes from him. Took me a while to get use to his house, but now I grew to love it

He was not my dreamie, but when Marshal visited my camp site I adopted him. He was cute and all, but at this point I already had a smug and Marshal just repeated his phrases plus he also stole his catchphrase. That was the point I had to let him go.

Marina. I love her design so much and she used to be one of my dreamies but she's kinda boring imo

EDIT: same exact thing with Merengue and Tia. I guess normal personalities aren't really my cup of tea, which is a shame since I love sooooo many of their designs

Audie. I really like her design and possible backstory, but I really can't stand the peppy personality in this game. It's just not my type at all. As time goes on, I'm going to consider letting her go and getting another one of a personality I prefer more once I finish my DIY list and don't have to worry about missing a personality.

Octavian. I wasn't exactly searching for him, but he was in my list, so when I found him I was very happy. Then he moved, and I talked to him and stuff, and he was a carbon copy of Walt, they had nothing different from each other in their dialogue. It was a little heartbreaking. My other crankies after him (Static and Wolfgang) are a little different and have some cool interests that makes them stand out, but Octavian had nothing going for him except he naruto-runs everywhere. I ended up replacing him with Lucky and Walt with Wolfgang.

GAYLE. she was one of my starter villagers when i re-started my NL town a few years ago and i love her to bits. the problem at hand was, very much, that she does not fit the town theme i'm going for this time around and in retrospect i didn't like her as much as i thought i would. i ended up giving her to someone who was actually looking for her, but i just feel a bit bummed out about it. she's still one of my faves and i really wanted her to work out with the rest of my island, but she didn't and i'm super sappy about it.

Zucker. (wah)

He was with me in NL, I think he is so adorable but I also really want Sherb as a lazy so I have kept them both. I thought Sherb would have better dialogue as a new addition (maybe I need to raise his friendship) because I had Raymond for a bit and his dialogue was amazing, but it isn't it is actually painfully similar to Zuckers. And thats saying a lot as I currently have 4 normals.

I am debating letting Zucker go at some point, but he always hangs out with Marina and it might really break my heart. I dont knowww

Flurry! I met her on a nook miles island and thought she was so cute, but then she moved to my island and i went into her house- she has a pet hamster and plays hypno k.k., i had a very weird first conversation with her, and now i just want her gone lol. she creeps me outttt

I love flurry but I agree her song creeps me out, but I gave her kk bossa and now her house is cute lol

As for my characters, definitely the popular ones with hype I didn’t vibe with.

Audie- I like her design but twiggy was my first peppy and whenever I hear that voice I just think of twiggy. I think that hyper personality and voice suits twiggy more than Audie. I found Audie very annoying and think that her voice would be more suited with snooty.

Judy- just seemed very two faced with her snooty personality. She’s cute but I just didn’t like her.

Sherb- is cute but I didn’t like KK hypno in his house and he basically has the same dialogue as all the lazy villagers with bugs and I don’t like the lazy personality in this game

ankha- Shes very cute and I love her design but her house is very boring. And she basically has the same dialogue as robin who was my first snooty. I like robins look cause she’s very unique so I guess I don’t vibe well with villagers everyone else has or wants

i don't think ill let him go yet but i loved the whole rock n roll aesthetic he has, but before i got him i had graham, and it sucks that they have similar dialogue because i'm just reminded of the hated graham constantly.

he might grow on me once i get my other dreamies in and customize my town more

I feel the same way with you too I really wanted Walt at first and I thought his house might be a yakuza style but when he moved in it’s a bit ruined my expectation lol I love his appearance and personality btw

In New Leaf I really wanted Bluebear, but once I got her she wasn't as cute as I thought she would be and was just kind of blah. I always wanted to replace her with Flora who would fit the vibe of my town more but I never did. (mainly because I dreaded the whole resetting for a housing plot location thing)

I regret taking Gonzo. I only took him because I was looking for a cranky after several rounds of island hopping. He never leaves the house.

Nope never because I just play the game by ear. I like when get/find random villagers. Think the game is more fun that way because you get to meet new villagers that are not that well know thus making your island a bit more unique

I had Beau for a while because he's cute and I liked him in NL, but the English lazy dialogue is too weird for me, so I quickly got rid of him after getting him
