Do you have a unique/rare name?

My name is Raven.

Yes, that’s my legal name and not a nickname/gaming persona. Common responses to my name include:
“That‘s so Raven!”
“Like the Teen Titan?”

It might not sound all that weird, but hear me out.

I have been raised in a southern American Catholic home, school, and community my entire life (I identify as agnostic now) so my name stands out a lot since it’s not straight out of the Bible or a Saint’s name. For those who aren’t religious, a Saint is a Catholic person who lived a holy life and became a venerable figure after their death.

I am also biracial (half white and half hispanic) and my name is unlike any other on either side of my family. My mom wanted me to have a different name and she succeeded.

Although I was bullied for my name as a little kid (yup, that happened) I have learned to love and appreciate it more. I have only met three or four people named Raven in my life (I’m 17) and none of them spelled it the way I do.

Do you have a rare/unique name? Tell me about it!
Yeah my names italia ive never met anyone else with the name

No. My name was one of the most popular names for the year I was born. It was really irritating to go through school and be called first name + last initial all the time.

Once I graduated high school I stopped encountering as many people with my name, fortunately.

My name isn't exactly rare, but I don't like it. I only met 2 other people with my name, though we had nothing else in common. I would much rather my name be Raven.

not really, my names are pretty common. one of my middle names is really old fashioned though and not common

i'm also biracial! half russian/white and half indigenous (buryat ppl in mongolia!)

my name is yekaterina but i go by katerina and it's a common name in russia but not so much in america i guess so it's kind of a .. blurry line between common and unique

I’m Lucia, which in the UK isn’t the most common of names. Perhaps more so in Italy!

I'm Korean and my first name is a french name so it was definitely uncommon growing up in Korea. I haven't met any other person with my name yet, although I have met others with a different spelling/version of it. I've met a couple "Julian" but no female versions lol.

My name I don't think is really all that uncommon, but people call me by the more popular variations of it which irritates me sometimes.

I have a French name (Manon), though I recently figured out is is also a Welsh name. I am neither, though (Dutch). If I would have lived in France or Belgium it would be a very common name, but right now I do not come across others with the same name that often, though it happens! So my name is not really special :) I don't really like it either, since it is derived from Maria/Mary and means "bitterness" (though in Welsh it means "wished-for child", which is considerably nicer).

My names Pamela

It can be interpreted as a Grandma name or a big booby actress (lookin at you Miss Pamela Anderson)

And I don’t know how to feel about either of those choices

my IRL name is Marieke, it's a version of the name Marie
I'm from belgium and over here my name isn't very uncommon, but it's not common either..
I think in my whole life I've met maybe 3 people who share my name?

in Dutch to make something 'smaller' we add a suffix at the end of the word
for example a tree in Dutch is a 'boom' and a small tree would be a 'boompje',
or pudding (also pudding in Dutch) would be 'een puddingske'
long story short, some people don't believe it's my actual name but rather a nickname? it's weird lol

it's also a weird name to say in English, i'm not even sure how to pronounce it?
I feel like if I ever travelled to an English country I would just say my name is Marie for convenience sake.
maybe it's also the reason my 'gamer' name is Dawn. Sorry to the people who thought my name is Dawn haha!

my name is not rare in my country but I don't think you have ever heard it. my name is Gijs (it's a Dutch name with the dutch letter combination ij you pronaunce it kind of like a Y and the pronaunciation of the letter G). and I really don't know how to pronaunce it in english because all letters are pronaunced so much different. but I like my name
oh and it means shining arrow or clear so thats pretty cool

My name's Clara and ive only ever seen it in old people or in other countries lol
I personally really hate the name

My best friend is named Clara, I really love that name! There are a lot of girls named Clara that are my age (in their twenties) in France :)

As for me it's not super "rare" nor unique, it's just outdated :') A lot of people my age tell me their moms are named Delphine, but I've only ever met two other Delphines that were around my age. I like it, I like the whole "dolphin" vibe it has and I was very fond of learning about sea creatures when I was a kid because of that, but I've seen some friends confess to me that they don't like my name — never quite understood why they felt the need to tell me so lol that's kinda rude.
