Do you guys think Town Ordinances should come back?

I’d really like the night owl one back. I usually can’t get on to play the game until 9:30pm, which means most things have shut or are about to.

I think since flowers don't wilt, that they should simply keep the shops open until 1.00am, and open at 5.00am.

No need to enact anything.

Not particularly. The shop hours are already pretty good as-is (8 AM to 10 PM is a pretty nice range of times; I don't really see the hours being extended much earlier although I suppose they could be extended later by a few hours), and flowers don't wilt which moots any reason to implement anything similar to the beautiful ordinance.

To be honest, it feels like NH gave everyone towns with all of the NL ordinances in effect (hours of Nook's that stretch decently early and late, flowers never wilt, and there's multiple premium items with the Nook shop upgrade). So, I don't think there's really any purpose to have any additional perks on top of that. I do want to see more shop expansions though, which I could see being implemented in a future update (I don't think implementation of ordinances in NH is likely in a future update though.)

I think it'd certainly be a neat addition! Perhaps they could get more creative with the ordinances in some way, since the shops in NH are open way longer already, and flowers don't wilt.. Maybe an ordinance that unlocks all furniture color variations (so that you don't have to go online to get them). Maybe a turnip ordinance.. there's a lot they could do

I forgot those were a thing! Sure, i would like them back but not the same ones as nl because some of them i wont use like the one for flowers.

They feel largely obsolete at this point outside of maybe Bell Boom, but I never used Bell Boom so I can't really comment too much on that. Beautiful Town is wholly pointless now since flowers don't wilt, so that's immediately out of the running. Early Bird and Night Owl would be appreciated since they can accommodate more people's varied schedules and playtime availability, and I'd personally really love for the Able Sisters to not close before Nook's Cranny since sometimes I feel rushed, but there aren't currently all that many businesses available in New Horizons as compared to New Leaf. If more businesses return and there are new ordinances introduced, sure, bring those two back as well.

I agree with FireNinja1 though, their reintroduction is not something I expect to be implemented.

i wish in general there was a bit more control with ongoings on the island - some more structure to the idea not just of designing the outdoor of the town, but the daily happenings and life stuff. (ie. villagers with weekly hobbies based on what you were doing most around the town, small festivals you could put on with isabelle, setting island work out times you could join in, doing parties with villagers, etc etc.)

it would be fun to get into that aspect of QOL and i keep my fingers crossed they do in a future update.

Yes! I'd love to see new ones added too, and having more than one enacted at a time would also be great. that's something that could be added consistently through their update model too as something to look forward to, so we could get some fun gimmicky ones if we wanted. Imagine having an ordinance (although I imagine the concept would be renamed) that changed the overall appearance of the island to some kind of theme so you could have it set up for different events if you wanted. Stuff like that. But of course I'd want Early Bird all the way <3

I always have my clock set a couple hours earlier than the actual time, since I normally don’t get a chance to play until late at night I’m sure a lot of people do this. When the game doesn’t give you ordinances, make your own!

I think it would be a small but useful thing to add back in. It definitely helps cover more people with different sleeping schedules allowing your island stores to open earlier or close later.

If they could add more options, I don't see why not. It's not like I hated them in New Leaf and depending on the player, it could be useful to some.

I would love for ordinances to come back! I really need the night owl one, as right now I have to keep my Switch set to the incorrect time just so I can play while the shops are still open.

I also miss the beautiful town ordinance. I'm having terrible luck trying to breed hybrid red roses/blue roses right now, and could definitely use a boost for flower crossbreeding chances.

I think ordinances won't work so well if you keep the same as in NL. But it would be great if the shops were open just a little longer

PLEASEEEE-- sometimes i don't get on until like 10pm, after things are closed, or when they are about to. i'd really love to see things open a bit later, meaning they would close a bit later, so people who are more night-time oriented would be able to still visit all of the shops and things like that!

I had the beautiful town ordinance but since I like the weeds and flowers don't rot now id mostly likely use the night owl one to keep my shops open later since I play late at night a lot. I'd personally love to see them back maybe with a different one to replace the beautiful town

I personally always used the night owl ordinance or sometimes beautiful town to keep my flowers but beautiful town does no have as much use in new horizons (sometimes I wish my flowers could still go away because there are SO MANY)

I heard people talk about not being able to play until after work/etc. and by the time Ables and Nook's closes. Some animals go to bed way too early as well. I think it would be a nice idea, I'd prefer having the option over time traveling.

I usually only play during the hours that nooks/ables are open. I rarely play past 9-10 PM. If I could, I'd open up both shops at 7. 6 AM if I'm honest! Definitely would rather have my villagers up at that time too! Had to get rid of my Uchis- it annoyed me too much that they stayed up so late! I doubt they'll bring a feature like this in, but I'd definitely use it.

No not really. None of them are useful. I don't need more flowers. I don't need help with bells and Nook's cranny ain't selling much so they can close on time.
